Most people probably already know about it but it still looks great. Specially for a small team to be making.

Swim out of water run across land and get into a spaceship.... then fly through the atmosphere and dogfight in outer space. All procedural... MMMM

Really looking forward to it. Seems like the kind of game I need at the moment to take my mind off the current lull I find myself in with many I am playing.
That's one of the games i'm the most excited about (along with Watch Dogs and The Division).

TotalBiscuit did raise a good point about No Man's Sky, though. He said that it could end up being either a great game or a HUGE disappointment, because the game is REALLY ambitious. And i have to agree with him, the game does sound way too ambitious for a team of 4 people. I really hope they manage to make a good game, but it won't be easy to achieve the ambitious vision they have.
I'm still trying to figure out what they mean by "when you discover it, it's discovered for everyone" because that sounds like there'd be a lot of overlap, so I'm assuming they mean it's like Malevolence where it's procedural but not random but who knows.

Other than that, it looks and sounds awesome.

It's a kind of persistent, shared universe:
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/12/09/first-look-no-mans-sky/

"Any planet you discover on your journey is marked on your galactic map, along with its name, its atmosphere and what resources you found there. If you choose to, you can then share that information with every other player, uploading it so that it’s shared across everyone’s galactic map.

You’ll get credit for discovering it. You’ll also, if the materials there are valuable, attract players to come visit. No Man’s Sky isn’t a multiplayer game, in as much as you’ll never see another player. But the galaxy is the same between everyone and actions of “significance” will be shared. If you kill a single bird, that won’t be shared. If you make an entire species of bird extinct, then those creatures will blink out of existence for everyone."

D'oh! I've read that too. It's been a longer day than I thought.

But yeah, that means it's like Malevolence, only hopefully with less spamming the, what was it, F4 key(?), trying to claim everything haha.
If it ends up being DRM free, and has singleplayer or multiplayer, I would love to see it here on Good Old Games.
this is definitely one to watch, really hope they can make this a good original game

C17: and has singleplayer or multiplayer
Most games have at least one of those. :-P Do you mean, a choice about how much you interact with a 'shared universe'?

Most?! What games have neither? :D

It's probably going to be single-player with forced server access due to the shared universe.

LOL. I had never heard of that term before. Thanks for enlightening me!

To be fair though, as much as one can argue about interactive novels and other experimental games can really be considered games, I find that term slightly backwards. If there's zero interaction during the game then well...ok, at least it had a catchy name.

What about games where you don't actually "Play" anything. Maybe interactive stories called games. lol dunno trying to think of something.

I don't see why. It sounds like the sharing of the planets/universe discoveries are optional.

Probably just upload a seed or something haha.

Maybe I read into it wrong but from what I was reading, it sounded like you'll be able to make your mark on the world in other ways, as well, which screams "persistent server access."
