To express my gratitude for the free games I got lately from some very generous people I decided to host a fun giveaway of my own :)
You can get games from people who just casually give them out, but I had in mind something different. Similarly to some people who organize raffles or simple contest I want you to do something for me. ;)
The rules are simple:
- I offer any 6$ classic game of your choice. That can mean one 5,99 game or perhaps two 2,99 promo games or maybe one 4,99 promo game. Your choice.
- You have to write a haiku (in English) that is in some way related to your favorite game on GOG. It can be any relation: your experience with it, your memories of it, the character, the story, anything. But don't go into too much minute detail. Unfortunately I can't rememer how zombie no. 1201 looked like in Planescape.
- Completely aware of the consequences of what I'm about to say. Please PM me with your entries. In your PM, write the name of the game your haiku is about.
- Please submit only ONE enrty...so give your poem some thought :)
- Please submit only original works.
- I will accept entries only till next Thursday. You will be notified if you win :)
FAQ:
But...WTF is a haiku? :(
Not to dwell into too much detail: it's a japanese short poem composed of three lines with 5-7-5 syllable structure. There is more to it than that of course, but that's all I require. Other than that, use google and do some research. Protip: No rhymes.
But...I suck at writing :(
But you can count and you know at least a little English, right? Use some imagination and you have a chance.
But...I don't know English that good to write poetry :(
You're on an English only website, writing in an English only forums...surely you know it enough. Plus I need them in a language I can understand :P
But...what if I'm Polish, like you? :(
Still send it in English.
But...people who are English native speakers have a advantage :(
But you may have a better imagination or interpretation of the topic :)
But...when can I claim my game? :(
Anytime you want. If you're feel like it you can wait till the next promo and see whether there's anything you like there. But I won't be waiting indefinitely. So after the next promo you'll have to choose a regular game offer. Unfortunately I cannot predict the future and I don't know what games will be discounted. So it's a gamble
But....I want a game from the promo right now :(
Me too, and I posted that I would like it gifted somewhere else. But well, we can't get everything, now can we? ;)
But...this is stupid. Why gift a game and want a game gifted at the same time? :(
Two reasons:
1. This is more fun.
2. It generally feels better to have something given to you than simply buying it. It also feels nice to be the giver. So all in all it's a win-win. Either way.
