Get well soon! Mine is

Kill the last goblin,
Take the loots, leave the cave. Life
with might and magic.

It's obvious which games it is about......

This is the first haiku I wrote for the contest, although I ended up going with the one I posted previously.

Another World

I'm out of this world.
Tentacles are after me.
Where the hell am I?

Hope you get well soon, azah_lemur!

If anyone is interested in my badly-written haiku (it even breaks the 5-7-5 rule) about Arx Fatalis I PM'ed azah_lemur the other day:

Smacked really hard on the head
Amnesia constantly
An overused story plot

My escape comes on swift wings
Soon be free outside again
Darkness is everywhere

Hungry comes next, must eat now
Hmmm, very tasty fried rat ribs
What earthly season is this?

Underground or so it seems
Dying sun forced us all down
Built dungeons everywhere

See an abandoned fortress
Must find civilization
What's next is "The King and I"

Clear the tunnel, the King asks
Liaison with the trolls
Make fun of all those goblins

Tasked to solve a mystery
Find out who killed that old man
Evidence falls soon enough

Turns out to be a guardian
Wimpy and weak as I am
Gotta break that meteor

Oliver's stupid side quest
Reward is Ring of Heroism
Fetch the notes and dig the key

Needs two rings to help with quest
Rebels and a nice lady
Snakes! Why'd it have to be snakes?

Broken meteor, I have
Not sufficient, it seems
Ultimate weapon is next

Ratmen are a bunch of thieves
No point talking to them
Saber and spells do them all

The dwarves delved too greedily
They also digged too deep
What they awoke in darkness?

Dragon, dragon, may I ask?
Just one egg is all I need
Fighting you is not required

Help the ghost of noble queen
Save a funny chicken man
Almost comes to the game end

It is time to face Akbaa
Much more wimpy than I am
He's down in no time at all

Time to go, oh all my friends
Hasta Mañana, farewell
May we all soon meet again
OK...so, I've read thoroughly through all of your entries and I must say the final choice was a hard done since all of the poems had something in them. To the point that for a moment I thought about choosing the winner at random from my best picks ;)

Some made me laugh, some made me nod at how true they were, some regarded games that were my personal favorites.

Some of you had difficulties with the form though ;)

In the end I chose the Fallout haiku of oasis789:

When winter passes
and seeded vaults bloom in spring
a hero shall rise

Hope you don't mind me posting it here. ;)
I really like the symbolism in that short poem, really worked on my imagination and that's what I was looking for mostly :)

But believe me, all of the poems I got were really nice.
I hope you had a lot of fun writing them and you liked the challenge. I'm happy that I got so many entries :)

Congratulations, oasis789!
And thank you for the contest/giveaway, azah_lemur! I hope you're feeling better now.
Thanks azah_lemur for the contest, and everyone for sharing their GoG poetry.

My entry attempted to emulate the seasonal/natural themes in traditional haiku, and apply that to the Fallout universe's nuclear `winter', and the regrowth of civilization afterwards. There's a very strong analogy to seasons in post-apocalyptic literature in its depiction of historical cycles.

In case anyone's interested, I chose a classic Westwood Studios dungeon crawler, Lands of Lore. Always wanted to replay the first one with the Patrick Stewart voice acting. Too bad GoG hasn't got the Kyrandia series of adventures, those were hilarious and also one of my fave point and click adventures... Often funnier than Sierra classics...
That was beautiful. Congratulations oasis789!

I hope you feel better azah_lemur. I have chronic tonsilitis myself, not fun, and acute seems worse.
Congrats on the win!

I did mine on Phantasmagoria 2 about getting your wallet. (Sorry It didn't end with I Heard That Curtis, I know I know!
That is some insane haiku. Very poetic.

I liked that one too. Made me smile :)
And yes..."I heard that Curtis" would've been great end :P

Damn! See I didn't do it because people who don't get that would be like "wtf is he talking about?"
Congrats, oasis789!
Also thanks azah_lemur, this is quite a special giveaway. A lot of fun here.
Thank you azah_lemur for this different contest and congratulations to the winner
Congrats to oasis789! Thanks azah_lemur, it was fun :-)
Thank you for the giveaway/contest azah_lemur and congrats oasis789. That haiku was excellent. My Redneck Rampage haiku didn't even compare :)
