WarlockLord: Some that aren't so easy to find physical copies of:

(I SWEAR an English version existed, at least for the demo... but there seems no evidence of it now, I wasn't even able to find the demo version last I looked...)
That Atrox game looks very similar to StarCraft. Did it play the same?

Well, I only have a slight experience with the game, but I'd say kind of, but not entirely. It's an RTS, and copied a lot of Starcraft concepts, but mixed them up between the factions, for instance the Hominians (Terran style faction) have the unit that digs into the ground to conceal itself, instead of the Createse (Zerg). And the Inteliom IMO didn't play much like the Protoss did. So you can draw rough comparisons but visuals aside, it's not quite so much an exact knockoff as some people might lead you to believe, and you can't just pick it up and say "oh, these guys are the Zerg" or whatever.

Also, the campaign is admittedly not as well designed (it gets very hard, very fast).

IronArcturus: Well in the case of "rare," I would think it would be from both columns. When I first played Shellshock all of those years ago, I looked absolutely everywhere for that tank game. I could never find a full version. Even today, no one I know has ever heard of the game. It doesn't help that there's a similar game called "Shellshock: Nam '67" which is completely different.
Was just checking out this thread (always nice to learn about interesting games that I might have missed out on), it appears Shellshock can be found on myabandonware .com (in case you don't want to wait for it to be released elsewhere ;)

andysheets1975: I was just about the mention that one. It's a really good game that for whatever reason just fell right through the cracks.
Ahhh... I remember this game coming with one of my old computers back in the day (it had a pack of games with it... some of the other stuff was Might & Magic II, Pushover, Contraption Zack... forget what else but I think there were a couple others too.) Was a much more "scary"/violent game than I would've been allowed to have back then if it hadn't slipped in that way. I remember stuff like the decapitation death (C/Generation I think?), meeting Derrida, and the defeat of D/Generation quite vividly thinking back. There were a lot of snarky, dark humor dialogues with the people you rescue too, as I recall.

Certainly wouldn't mind revisiting it some time.
Ecstatica and Ecstatica 2. I don't like the second one much but I'd love to get my hands on that one again since it's even more forgotten than the first one - oh yeah, and the first Ecstatica is a MASTERPIECE and the PC Gamer dude who featured it recently is a jackass.
Maybe not quite as obscure, but Siege of Avalon was a pretty great RPG experience.

Edit: @F4LL0UT (I have no idea how to add a reply once the post is done), when are the PC Gamer dudes NOT jackasses?

Another rare game I remember was called Urban Assault. It was a really cool and futuristic RTS game. I wish GOG could get it, but I don't think GOG has a deal with Microsoft yet.

Excellent question.

Also, you can reply to several different users in one post by just replying to both of them separately. If your first post isn't older than ten minutes and nobody else has posted in the meantime your replies will be merged.

Do you know if there is a way to get posts to not merge without having to wait?

no, the only way is if someone manages to make a post before you.

You can not make two subsequent post within 10 minutes. The software will merge them - no matter what.
Mostly nostalgia stuff from my childhood (not sure I'd even pay a full $5 for all of these games individually, but they were great fun back then):

The Chase on Tom Sawyer's Island
Eco-Saurus
Rick Dangerous
Rick Dangerous 2
Wayne's World
Hodj 'n' Podj

And more than 100 votes so far (but just barely, and it deserves much more, so I'm including it):

IronArcturus: What are some rare games that you'd like to see on GOG? Try to list games that have around 100 votes or less.

Here is a list of some old games that I hope to see on GOG someday:

Darklight Conflict
Sandwarriors
Shellshock
Take No Prisoners
I've been checking back to this tread and looking up the games on Mobygames, just for my own curiosity more than anything but, just from this first post I've added an EA, an Interplay and a Rebellion (Because that's who apparently has the Core publishing rights these days, seems it could be Sqeenix though) to my List:

So thanks for that!
Interesting thread

I would like to see all the Legend adventure titles here (Superhero League of Hoboken! Spellcasting trilogy!) but I guess there might be issues with the licensed games like Death Gate or Shannara.

Yeah, as I said back here though:

IIRC it was though that Atari had the rights to the Legend stuff but it doesn't seem to have come up in the auctions, unless the Legends guys DID get the rights back from them and they're just done nothing with them so far...
Anyway - even the rights to the non-licensed stuff seems mysterious right now...
