Converted a few years back and you gotta study! But what I find amazing is the sense of privilege of this post to begin with ;-p Afterall, this is an international site with peeps of all different cultures. Some people need to get a clue! Even one would be a small victory....

Nifty, my ex-roommate is Jewish. Man did his mother ever make amazing food, when we were growing up she would always have something delicious on the stove.

Okay, let's clarify things a bit. You say GOG is using the worship of your deity of choice as a means to make more money while giving attention to something else, correct?
Few problems with that.
One? Most people don't do more than pay lip service to the whole concept. "Happy Jesus' birthday! Now what did you get me? Oh....you thought that the birthday was for him, rather than for us?....Um, okay...." Typical nonsense. It isn't a celebration of a birthday, it's an excuse to buy more crap for cheaper.
Two? Would you even want what you're asking for? Think about it. Would you really like news channels to be running stories like "Fifteen mental defectives trampled and three killed at the local Walmart Praise Jesus Lord and Savior 75 Percent Off Two Hours Only Super Sale"? Or "Teenager killed after being robbed of the Playstation 93 he purchased at the Almighty God Sale"?
Edit - Screw it. I'm going to join in with your protests. They didn't call it the Great Dread Cthulhu Sale, and I know for a FACT that my own personal lord and savior woke up this very month. I mean, sure, he was documented as saying "No need to kill them, the halfwits'll do it to themselves" and went back to sleep, but that's not the point! My god's involved, so I want some credit attributed to him, damn it!

I would also like to point out the bitter irony of the OP complaining about corporations appropriating a holiday that was, as you mentioned, appropriated by Christians.
