Last night be and a few of my friends got together and did something that we had not done in a long time, watching Kung Fu movies. I had completely forgotten about my love for these freaking things. We started out the night with a funny bad movie called Miami Connection, and then went into a movie I found for three bucks called Heroes of the East and then finished with something called Riki-Oh The Story of Ricky.

I figured I should probably ask around on here for Kung Fu movies since there are a ton of people who browse these forums world wide. Right now I am looking for good kung fu, preferably ones I can find cheap. The ones that I can think of that stack high on the good kung fu list would be Master of the Flying Guillotine and The 36th Chamber of Shaolin. Any suggestions will be welcomed, I'm just looking for good kung fu to sink my mind into and see some cool fighting.

Edit: Another thing I should probably note in the first post is that I am not looking strictly for Kung Fu, but things that carry the kind of spirit that Kung Fu has. Ex(Tokusatsu or plenty of recommended movies in the thread.)

The Jackie Chan drunken master series is pretty good too.

Not really kungfu, but;

Is the Drunken Master series the one where he is training when they are throwing gravestones at him? I remember seeing a Jackie Chan movie where that happened once. Also it is fine if it is not really kung fu as long as it still kinda has that spirit and Red Cliff and Hero sure look like it.
There is an existing thread if you can find it. It has a good list of stuff to dig through.

Given my avatar I am going to recommend
ong bak
and
Protector

As well as
Tai Chi Master, Wing Chun, and of course Iron Monkey.

Oh and where are my wing chun roots? Ip Man.

A good chunk of those are on NetFlix

Yeah I watched the first Ip Man years ago on there. I think Funimation has the rights of those now, which is kinda weird since they usually license anime but nothing wrong with it. I remember liking the first one I might take a look at it again and look at the others.

I also watched Riki-Oh on there last night as well. What a good movie.
The "Ip Man" movies (especially the first two).
I don't know if any of these movies are "cheap" like you wanted to. But I like Once Upon a Time in China series. Watched it a lot when I was a kid. Jet Li as Wong Fei Hung is the main character. A lot of good fighting.

Another movie by Jet Li I liked is Tai Chi Master. Well, as the title says, it is about Tai Chi. I liked the plot.

Another one I can think of is King of Beggars. The main actor is Stephen Chow. and it is a comedy martial arts.

I also would recommend Red Cliff as mentioned above. A very good movie based on the Romance of Three Kingdom.

Edit: if you like the spirit of kung fu but not really a kung fu film, I would recommend God of Gamblers or God of Cookery. Just some stuffs I have enjoyed a lot in the past

Look for some kind of Shaw Brothers Studio Collection. You can't go wrong with that.
house of flying daggers
the promise
shadowless sword
Crippled Masters
For Your Height Only

Okay, possibly odd choices, but I adore them.
Jackie Chan's Who am I?
- I love the last fight scene (on the rooftop) especially

Van Damme's Bloodsport too

Will think of some more...:)

Azrael360: The "Ip Man" movies (especially the first two).
The first movie was really good, the second movie felt like an insult by comparison... but I guess it was kinda good if you watch it as an Kung Fu movie.
Check out all the old Shaw Brothers movies:

Challenge of the Masters
Martial Club
Legendary Weapons of China
Eight Diagram Pole Fighter
Martial Arts of Shaolin
Five Venoms
Five Element Ninjas
5 Shaolin Masters

there are tons more...

Also any of the old Jackie Chan movies:

Drunken Monkey
Drunken Monkey 2
The Young Master
Project A
Project A 2

Any of the Bruce Lee movies:

The Big Boss
Fist of Fury
Enter the Dragon
Way of the Dragon

There's hundreds more....
