I never watched the show myself that much, only an episode here and there, but apparently it does have a lot of fans wanting to see continuation for it.

Makes me wonder what other cult shows could make a return with Kickstarter. But then again, after Veronica rakes in a couple of millions in two days, I guess we will soon find out.

And don't say Firefly, as cost of one episode, not to say a movie, would require more money than they could realistically get through KS.
I never really like the show, but it is nice to see it funded and so quickly. I too hope that this will open the door for other "cult classics" to maybe get funding when they otherwise wouldn't.

Personally, I can't think of anything that I would like to see, but there must be something.

KyleKatarn: (do projects launch the same time every day? I haven't ever cared to check).
No, projects launch whenever (KS wouldn't want extreme server load fluctuations); although to make the most of the circadian rhythm of the potential backer pool, it makes sense to launch and end the pledge drives when the most Americans are online.
Pretty interesting, as it looks like the VM project starteres weren't expecting people outside US to actually pledge on the project. It must be that Warner Brothers is some what an obstacle in regards of international backers. I'd suspect, that WB doesn't have the distribution rights outside US.
From Rob Thomas' first update:

"First, please know we are trying to make international donations a possibility. We are running into a couple thorny issues, but we want it to happen. It might take a week or two before we have an answer, but keep checking back. Know that we hear you, and we're trying our best."

I think tomint is correct about the distribution rights being split in different areas. Some of the backers have referred to three distribution companies being involved, but I haven't seen a link to a source.
Joan of Arcadia I think is one of those shows that should have been Kickstarted to bring the show back on the air.

I still can't believe CBS cancelled that show in favor of Ghost Whisperer. What an idiot move that was.
On possible candidate has appeared: Pushing up Daisies, which is a great and peculiar show, that got cancelled before its time.
I did start watching this show again. I never did see that many episodes.
While I didn't particularly like this show, I like the idea. There are many shows I've liked that I would like to see coming back. So I think I'll back it a bit. I don't give a damn about those US only rewards, I agree it's bad but I'll just download the movie from somewhere and not worry about it.

Why do some of the really cool ones get canceled? Better off Ted, I'm looking at you.

EDIT: With the amount they're having, I feel my little drop of water is rather pointless. I'm happier with my 10$ than with their project having 0.0001% more funds.

For anyone interested in this who couldn't pledge because they weren't in US/Canada, they've added a whole lot of European countries as well as Brazil, Australia & New Zealand!

So if you live in one of the newly added countries, go pledge: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/559914737/the-veronica-mars-movie-project/

Paul_cz: I admit, I love this show. On paper, I hated the sound of it.
You made me watch Buffy that too looks terrible on paper, but is brilliant. I will now trust you on this one as well.

Ha, you won't regret it. This had similar effect on me as Buffy, even if not as pronounced due to only three seasons compared to seven. Still I was sad when it was over, even if last season was a bit of hit and miss (still worth it though).

Buffy...on paper I really cannot think of less appealing show than that. And yet thanks to Whedon's brilliance I love it just as much as Firefly and Red Dward. My trio of most favourite shows.

With Kickstarter becoming more viable for projects such as this, maybe we can finally get that Spike (from Buffy/Angel) TV movie that was being talked about.

On topic: I wasn't exactly a Veronica Mars fan when it was on the air, but there were definitely worse shows.
