I didn´t planned to get it, but being it so cheap right now and then not available (I do hope they - whoever they are - mustered their strength to do a sequel with a proper conclusion! and that´s the reason for pulling it off the catalogue), I´ve decided to buy it.

Such announcements could be temporarily stickied, to stay at the top of the forum as long as they are relevant.
Just my opinion.

Maybe your problem is because you never downloaded it, but that's just a guess.
I hardly ever download games until I'm ready to play them. 90% of the games I have bought on GOG I have bought them because I already own them in some sort of physical format prior. I think of GOG as "Upgrading". I usually then give away the physical media versions. I poured over my bookcase and I can not see Second Sight in there anywhere. There is No way I would have payed that game forward unless I had my GOG version, so now I'm totally confused.
Normally I'd be all "You live you learn" and suck it up, but I'm particularly bummed out here because I LOVED Second Sight. It was close to my GOTY when it came out. Far superior to the very similar, yet "So dudebro its comedy" game "Psy-Ops the Mindgate Conspiracy" that came out around the same time. John is such a great protagonist with real depth, and the way they told the story made you really care about the outcome. Every victory, no matter how small, was just so satisfying. Especially knowing how bad things could have gone if John did not manage to prevent it all!
Anyway, I ramble too much. I've got my XIII downloaded now. Probably play it too. You know, cos its is all so downloaded and everything! :)

Give me a sec, check your PM, and you'll see it!
Have fun :-)
Edit: oops, sent a code for XIII; just give it away as you see fit, and sorry.

Stuff related to GOG's business and therefore relevant to us customers (removing a game from the catalogue definitely fulfills this criteria) should be posted on the frontpage where people can see it, not hidden in the depths of the forum. It's pure coincidence I stumbled over this announcement!
Sometimes I feel like a second-class customer, because I don't use social media channels and don't dig through the forum multiple times a day. Shouldn't it be enough to check the main site on a daily basis to be up to date?
Aside from the misplaced and inconveniently short-termed warning (which probably isn't GOGs fault) I find it outrageous that gift codes can actually expire, especially as the redeeming page tells me “Valid indefinitely”. Aren't things like accessibility and durability core benefits of digital distribution? Now I learn that a number of digits I bought with real money will eventually vanish... Great. And again, I had to read a random post in a random thread in the forum to get this information.

Actually, from my experience so far, gift codes (XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) are valid indefinately, but bonus codes (XXXXXXXX) are time limited. While I would prefer to have a verification from a blue, I think this is the case, even though gift codes and bonus codes may be mixed up by a few.

Also this is the first time I heard that there are two kinds of codes. Confusing.

Thus why even if TET posted that, I'd prefer to get a second blue to verify this, preferably one of the tech people (no offence TET).

No reason given as to why it's being removed?

In cases like that, I fully understand why the codes can expire and I have no problem with that, as they're just giveaways.
But if I buy codes with my money, I expect them to be valid forever. Everything else would be close to fraud, especially as an expiry date isn't mentioned anywhere before or after the purchase.
A verification on this would be really helpful. Maybe then I'll buy a code for XIII to have one up my sleeve.
