timppu: "yet another C&C clone".
I actually felt Tiberian Sun showed just about the most innovation out of the older CnC games. Burrowing units, a lot of use of stealth technologies, another harvesteable resource for NOD, modulable buildings for GDI, firestorm defense system by itself, amphibious units, there's just loads of interesting stuff

Fenixp: Burrowing units,
I hated those! XD Spend the first hour of the mission coating my entire base in concrete and those assholes still found a crack to come up through! :D
Good good, now go play Hydrophobia: Prophecy, then you can say you played an awful game. Well actually, the first level of the game wasn't awful, in fact it was almost decent. The rest of the game was indeed awful though.

Fenixp: But... C'n'C 4? ... What is the point of the game? Seriously, you build the right units composition until you hit the unit cap, you micromanage them to survive as long as possible, you build more units and you walk your only building along the map and ... That's it. No resource management, and the micromanagement is not complex enough to drag the game out of utter horribleness.
Uh, so I'm no C&C or RTS expert ( not even close to one ), but if you take out the resource gathering and the base building... Is there even anything left to do? I guess you can still control your units and have them attack your enemies, but if that's all there is, it sounds more like an action game. Hmm.

When you take out the base-building and resources, it becomes an RTT(real-time tactics) game, like Ground Control 2, Myth: The Fallen Lords and World in Conflict.

... you're making me want to play it again.

Didn't it go free some time ago, along with tiberian dawn?

Edit: I think I found it, downloading and see what pops up. I don't recall having played firestorm, so maybe I'll do that.

Heh, you youngin's and your whizz bang 3D, high definition crap games.

Back in my day I played a real crap game, my poor child self wasted months of scrimping and saving on Bart vs the Space Mutants for NES.

But seriously, C&C4 is pretty damned wretched.

Yesterday I've tried from a friend Lords of Shadow 2. I liked the first one, but the sequel is simply garbage.
Last bad game I played was Dangerous Dave's Risky Rescue. It's like they took the template of the previous game and made it unbalanced and poorly designed, then also added in a bunch of unskippable animations =/

Oh no - that game was frustrating.

Yup, I'm fairly sure it did. And I'm fairly sure Firestorm is pretty damn difficult.
