I used yrden on hard and beat it to death from the side with strong attacks. Not really a problem, altough on the first queen I had an endrega warrior spawning, too.

AudreyWinter: I had picked up all snare traps in the forest (free, yay!) and put them to use. I laid them all out... it takes time, yes, but it's so worth it, because it's so much fun to watch the poor thing try to break free. You can safely use signs or swords to your liking, as long as she hits more traps. Afterwards, you pick up the traps again and nothing is wasted.

They should really patch the no xp for traps annoyance, because it's silly. You do a lot of work, you think ahead and if you win a battle without getting a scratch, good for you.
Yeah, I pick them up after I have stepped in one, which happens a lot. : ). I was able to box in the Queens and it made life easy. Not so easy finding that guy to get my reward though. Oh well, guess I'll just deal with the Nekkers, then try to find the guy. Notice how I keep putting off dealing with the Kayran. : )
Queens are by far and away the easiest minibosses. Just use Yrden, all you need, she stays paralyzed for a very long time, no need for potions or anything, maybe just a swallow in case.
I was able to get the Queens cornered where they couldn't move and then it was a matter of hack & slash. Usually it was up against a tree. I would make a repositioning move if she tried to move sideways one way or another, to keep her up against the tree. I didn't take too much damage.

radic202: OK! Maybe it was 3 Nekker Nests then? I could swear that I had 3 sets of Queen Saliva or pheromones or whatever it is in my inventory? Anyways, glad you got past that part. Good luck with the rest of the mobs?

Moradin27: completed the nekker nest one too. I handed it in and I seem to have obtained a recipe for a
"Witcher's superb silver sword".
Ah, so that's where the crafting diagram came from. I didn't remember where I got that. Damn reward message indicator is too brief.
I know OP is forging ahead, but it is worth mentioning that Throwing Daggers makes these beasties a walk in the park. Almost unfair.
