GoodGuyA: In a diplomatic standpoint, that's a pretty paltry gift. I'm one of the biggest advocates as video games as a cultural art form as any but the majority of politicians don't believe in that. I think it's better than giving him one of the books, but I would think he'd like that more since he'd actually have time to appreciate it. I don't think he'll ever touch it.
I can't agree with you on the diplomatic statement. It's something that Poland is known for--an expression of pop-cultural relevance and technical prowess. It may be a game, but it's also a statement of Poland's increasing international profile in the 21st century, and since diplomatic gifts often get tagged and stored, it's neither too much nor too little. You're right about the books, though. They're probably more his style.
