I can't seem to get fluid frames however I tweak the settings. Even on low the game stutters and dips with high downsampling and everything disabled on the advanced settings, also in CCC. It's mind-boggling. Even if I turn the resolution down to something like 1280x720, the game still stutters.

In all seriousness, what in the flying f**k? Seeing the boards, I'm not alone. Any laptop users getting reasonable FPS with ATI cards?

And before you ask, yes, Uber is off :)

Any word from CDP or AMD on the matter? Are drivers in the works?

AMD has a CAP in the works, not sure what that will do
I bet that the problem is your 5870M card. Isn't that a laptop card?
I have an HD5770 and I can play at ultra settings but with ubersampling disabled and I get minor slowdown in certain parts but overall the fps remain high.

A 5870 lappy card roughly translates to a ~5770 if I'm not mistaken, so no. And still, it should very much be able to handle at least low without all the bells and whistles. Something funky in the air. To clarify, I'm on a gaming laptop.

CAP is for X-fire though, innit?

Good point. I have a 5850 and it runs smooth as butter on high without any slow downs.

I wrote a detailed report on what's happening here.

Damn, I have 5770 also and get 20-30fps/very choppy.

Same here, as mentioned in the article even those with the same card have varying results. Mysterious..

More precisely, 20-35fps on high (with the most demanding compared to their effect settings turned off - ubersampling, cinematic depth of field and anti-aliasing), 25-45fps after dropping out SSAO and lowering resolution. I can't seem to eliminate the drops to sub-30fps no matter the settings.

Lucky, I have 2 Crossfired 5870HD and won't even get more than 30fps and Medium 1900x1200 res. A pain in da arse...will try the game in my laptop (Nvidia 435M, see if it is just a "ATI" thing...)
Slightly off topic - but how is everybody checking their FPS?

Using FRAPS here
Dear koobion

Install Software called Fraps or the best RadeonPro is the best software to control your ATI card with lots of great feature, benchmarking, screenshots and it has FPS in realtime too.

Best regards.

Sincerely
I've got a HD 5770 and my game play is smooth as silk on high settings. I'm using the 10.10 drivers. Maybe you guys can try rolling your drivers back until AMD gets the hot-fix out.
