My game is installed on a SSD and I also have the stuttering with patch 1.1. So fragmentation can't be the problem.
i don't see any improvements doing it -_-

charleswang95: very common issues for ati cards...even their best cards. I know for sure is not the game's problms. ATI really need to work on that.
Actually, this has also been reported by nVidia users, so I think you can safely say you don't know for sure.
I think I found a solution which is common with several games that experience micro-stuttering.

The fix is to use a Frame Rate Limiter.

If any of these work for you please report back.

DX10/11

ToMMTi-Systems SSAA-Tool v1.0
http://www.tommti-systems.de/temp/SSAA_Tool.rar
- This one is for advanced users, make sure to throughly look at the ReadMe.txt
- I recommend using this, setting a limit actually makes the fps fluxuate -15 fps from your upper limit, I set it to 70.

Dxtory
http://dxtory.com/v2-download-en.html
- There is a frame rate limiter option under advanced options, although from my experience the program would slow down performance without it even enabled.
- I didn't like this program as much as it considerably lowers performance and does not work while using MSI Afterburner.

ATI Tray Tools
http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=733
- Supposedly with the Refresh Lock feature this should reduce stuttering and input lag when Vsync is enable if set to lower than 60 fps.
- Although I had trouble getting this app to even work.
- Let me know if anyone fixes the micro-stuttering with this app.

Also having stuttering post 1.1
My solution was to turn vsync off, depth of field and blur off and ssao.

However pre 1.1 I had all these on and didn't stutter :/

Hi,

Just signed up to the forums to let you know that using the FPS Limiter mentioned above stuttering was COMPLETELY eradicated, with FPS capped at 30. It was a severe problem before, thank you very much for informing me about it. Obviously this won't work for Steam users, but seeing as this confirms that it's an engine problem rather than a hardware one, hopefully CDProject will patch it soon.

Thank you,

Max
Ati 6850 user here.

Pre patch - butter smooth.

Post patch - mini stuttering - and definite drop in performance

Which program did you use?

Glad to hear it worked for someone else.

yeah well does the "nvidia users" know for sure is their graphic cards problems? I m not saying ATI cards are bad, I m currently using a AMD card. I m just saying they need to fix this as soon as possible.

My point is that you saying that it can't be the game's problem because ATi card owners were having this problem, is a non-sequitur. If nVidia card owners are having the same problem, and many seem to be, then the logical conclusion is that the game is indeed the issue, unless both nVidia & ATi cards or drivers have an identical problem, which only affects certain people. This is highly unlikely, so I suspect there is an issue within the game itself.

i hear you, I kinda think your conclusion is correct. Anyway I don't experience this at all, so here is my solution for this issue: high-end card users wait for the patch(both form CDPR and video card producers); not so good GPU users turn vsync off
Nothing works for me - turning down the settings, defragmenting, disabling vsync, capping the FPS, reinstalling (it automatically installs 1.1). The stutter post-patch was just about bearable in Chapter 1, but having reached the town in Chapter 2 it's pretty much unplayable. I'm not getting brilliant framerates (20-30) but the amount of stuttering makes it feel even worse than that, more like 10-15 FPS.

Looks like I'll have to shelve it until the next patch, and hope that whatever changed between the two versions is undone.
Keeping dxtory on while playing helps with stutter , at least for me.No idea why tough.
I tried setting to window mode and it seems to have fixed the stuttering
Hey guys,

I've also got the stuttering (with vsync disabled) in W2 after 1.1 patch but I can't seem to get FPS_limiter to work.
I used it in many games and it worked fine but in W2 it just closes itself and game won't launch.

Anyone having any problems with this? I'm on Win7-64 bit if that makes any difference.

I also tried DXtory (advanced limit frames or something to 30) and my frames in game are still uncloked, don't know really why.

Cheers.
