Everyone hail the first king of Hall of Fame... Noctropolis!!! I have now updated the rules to clarify how a game can make it into the Hall of Fame of Underrated Games :)

Other stars of the week were Nightlong: Union City Conspiracy and Rails Across America both of which have managed to make it into the list and climb some steps already. Other games of the week worth mentioning are Gender Wars, Hexplore and Get Medieval.
Red Ghost

EDIT: Current votes: 4.

This is a weird one. I had this game one a yarr compilation CD back in the days of my youth. It captivated me with it's blend of strategy like Panzer General, with first person 3D action. Basically you control some units and have to accomplish mission objectives.

You have access to different class of units, like infantry, tanks, helicopters, etc. You place them on the map, then when you're done planning, everything starts to pan out in real time.

You can possess any unit of yours at any given time, which is when the game turns into a first person action game.

It was quite enchanting, and later led me to hunt down and play Muzzle Velocity :)

Funnily enough couldn't find much about the game, when I entered the wish to the list, that link was all I had. Now at least I found it on Moby for some extra info and screenshots. http://www.mobygames.com/game/red-ghost

drealmer7: Road Warrior
This game is crazy-weird. I got it when it was released and I had no idea it was even a sequel. Nothing on the packaging or in the game said anything about Quarantine or Quarantine II, it just said Road Warrior. I still have it, but of course it doesn't work. I'd love to see it here.

It's a 3D driving/demolition derby type game first and foremost, but there are dialogues and characters too to an extent (shit, kind of like twisted metal+GTA, not that I've played GTA games beyond the original, they don't interest me.) The artwork and attitude is done in a comic-book style, and it is bizarre to say the least - mad clowns and such. You play a Taxi Cab driver in a toxic future city of crime, exploitation of all kinds, and general filth. You pick up various characters and take them to different locations and complete missions against different enemies, trying to outrun, hide from, and most certainly destroy (bang bang with the car) with time limits, and other elements that are pretty much fun but a rough as well because of the production value/type of games at the times they were made.

check out thisvideo of it, haha!
please mention the number of current votes if you want the list to cover this game

Oops, I knew I did something wrong there, it had been a while since I posted here and I did it in a rush and I thought "dangit, I probably missed something." Thanks for the heads-up! Editing now.

VERY cool that Noctropolis got past 350! It didn't have many to go, but still great.

Whoops, edited :) And yay, go Noctropolis :D Now to just have someone have a go at EA with a hot poker to release it from captivity.

DUST: A TALE OF THE WIRED WEST (currently 147 votes)

I remember watching a friend playing this now almost 20 years ago. It was a western, with a very sandbox approach for its time. It is an adventure game and there is really nothing still quite like it. You find yourself in a western town and you can explore the towns, play cards, flirt with women etc. The graphics were really good for its time and still pretty neat for a classic in my opinion. I could buy a copy for myself later on and was immersed for a long time. This is an extremely underrated game and I have never met anyone who played this and doesn't have good memories about it.

Game review

Vote for it!
This week Submarine Titans got back on the throne and rapidly approaches the hall of fame! Bermuda Syndrome, Corridor 7: Alien Invasion and Battle Bugs also had an impressive week, the latter two having managed to make it into the list!

Oh, my bad. Alright, I'll post them in a different thread.

John Constantine is the name of the main character in the Hellblazer comic by Vertigo DC. This game is based on the movie Constantine, starring Keanu Reeves. The player assumes the role of Constantine, a mage/exorcist/demonslayer of the modern age. A man who fights Evil, but remains cynical and skeptical in the face of Good. He also smokes a lot.

The game is played in third person perspective, switching to first person when the hero enters narrow spaces. Constantine's goal is to discover how and why Demons have managed to physically enter Earth, although the ancient laws forbid it. He utilizes a number of holy weapons and artifacts, from twin revolvers (dubbed the Witch's Curse) that shoot stones from the Holy Lands to Holy Water Bombs and the Cross Shotgun. Constantine can also utilize various kinds of offensive magic powered by the souls of slain demons. Often he will be obliged to travel to Hell, which resembles a perpetually ablaze and decaying version of our world, in order to bypass obstacles. Each level is linear and is played sequentially, following most of the story of the movie with a few sections added in or stretched out to allow for more action. Hidden cards in levels will unlock cutscene animatics, concept art, and interviews with the stars of the film.

Someone on another thread had a link somewhere about someone from a studio (or somewhere) saying they had the rights to it and it may actually get released? But now I can't find it anywhere. GAh!
Gun   ( © 2005 Neversoft Entertainment ―  Currently 325 votes )

The Wild Wild West meets Grand Theft Auto in this free-roaming action game. Set in 1870, you are Colton White, a young gunslinger whose father is killed by an Indian tribe led by Reverend Reed. Just before passing away, your father hands you a token and reveals you are not his son. Sworn to avenge his death, you pursue the killers and unravel the secrets surrounding the item. Although you are on your own, temporary alliances can be formed with townspeople, Apaches and posse members, but watch your back as they can turn against you.

The main storyline, written by Hollywood screenwriter Randall Jahnson (The Mask of Zorro, 1998,) is linear. You will have to fight duels, defend towns against bandits, help build railway tracks, intervene in various conflicts and kill heavily-armed bossed. There are also many side missions or alternative ways to earn money. You can play poker in the casino, help out farmers with their livestock, assist the local sheriff or deliver items with the pony express. Other possibilities include bounty hunting, regular hunting for rare animals, mining for gold and various rescue missions.

The RPG elements involve acquiring and improving skills, such as QuickDraw (shown in Bullet Time,) Zoom Firing, Melee Combat, improved accuracy, the ability to throw axes and strategically equipping and upgrading different weapons. There are hand weapons (knives, tomahawks, bayonets), archery arms, explosive throwable items and regular guns, such as sharpshooter rifles, colts and winchesters. Some are earned during the missions, others can be bought and sold for cash in the towns.

The GTA reference is reflected in the main means of transportation: horses. There are different animals to find with extensive movement options. Go on wild chases, spurt, gallop, do skid attacks, or trample your enemies. Give them some rest from time to time, or you will wear them down to death. In the melee combat, you can do roll maneuvers, use objects to provide cover, grab your opponents and even scalp them. You are free to steer away from the main storyline and explore the giant landscape, with towns, deserts, mountains, wilderness and caves.

I swore I had voted for that before! Hmmmm

Have heard about it here and there before and when I looked it up a few years ago it has had me highly interested.
ill mention tekwar (currently 137 votes)

http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/william_shatners_tekwar

never played it, but it seems very interesting by the fact that had a tv series and series of novels all placed in the same universe.

using the build engine (famous for being the engine of duke nukem 3D) is a first person shooter with 2D sprites.

I think we could appreciate more of this types of games if we have the chance to play it now

here is a videohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vho7k1qON_w

also last but not least captain kirk is in it, what more can you want
