StingingVelvet: Definitely a shame it's not available though.

teceem: There are plenty of places where you can still buy it (retail or key).... just not directly via Steam.
(I have the "boxed" version; files on disc, minimal manual, steam key)
Square enix store still sells the original boxed version. that where i bought my copy
Are the saves compatible between both versions? I presume they're not, but asking just in case.

I would love to have human revolution here, first time I played that game, I clocked 12 hours in one day and that is rare for games now days with me. getting that here will be a great day.

netkage: (the Directors Cut weren't very well recieved by fans).
It was not? That's weird, I though they only improved the boss battles that were just terrible for less combat oriented builds in the original (and removed yellowish filter) and that was all...

This one demonstrates the short LOD pop-in distance in the Director's Cut: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/9znn2diof572uh3/AAC79EK_fKNj8CAh4BEI7Ayna/dxhr-dc-pop-in.jpg?dl=0 Look at the containers the crosshair is pointed at... the one directly underneath the crosshair is close enough for full detail while the two next to it have dropped to the low detail versions.

It looks like they had to significantly cut down the visual quality to get it running well on the Wii U, and then just left it like that for the PC version. Also, IIRC the cutscenes are lower quality in the Director's Cut too.

Thank you for the answer.

From what I've seen posted in this thread, I like the original version better.
the director's cut is fine.
there are some good changes actually (boss fights and dlc inside the main story).
and it runs fine.

the real problem is that it's not on gog and it's not drm-free.
Thanks for such clear examples. This on top of the horrible balance with the DLC integrated are plenty of reason to avoid the "Director's Cut."
I'm shocked the community hasn't tried to fix this yet.

netkage: Deus Ex: Human Revolution should be on GOG. The original version of the game is no longer available on Steam, only the DC is now available (the Directors Cut weren't very well recieved by fans). This is a good opportunity to add the original version of the game to GOG. Most People prefer the original to the DC anyway.
What is the difference btw? I'm curious

I see the yellow colour vs. the non-yellow colour

Look at the pictures dude, it's more than just removal of the gold tint (which itself is bad, btw). Also the horrible balance changes too.

I had a similar feeling when looking on those pictures and the video. I didn't see much of difference, mainly that one looked more yellow and the other more gray-ish, or something. Different tint. Other than that they looked the same.

Then again, maybe one can see it more clearly while playing, dunno. I seem to have both the original + DLC and DC on my Steam account, what I gather now is that it might make sense to play (also) the original version.
No idea when and where I bought those games, were they part of some Humble Bundle at some point?
