I will parrot what has already been said.
The DC is an absolute mess, like most "remasters" its a downgrade in every way, it was actually based on version 1.0 so they kept the bugs, brought some new ones, the visuals are worse, it stutters all the time and forces you to play the DLC which while not a bad one is a pacing killer and overpowers you for the the final stages, it was a separate experience for a good reason!

Only thing that's improved are the boss fights, but the downsides are too many for that to even matter.

If DXHR ever comes to GOG I hope they try to bring the original version+DLC here or at least bundle both versions together

I think bundling them both is the best solution. That way people can play whichever version of the game they prefer.
thanks!

jepsen1977: I found the DC version to be unplayable on PC. The stuttering was so bad that I had to uninstall after 5 hours. It runs fine on PS3 so for anyone who wants to play the DC version the PS3 version is the way to go. Though be warned that inventory management can be a hassle.
there are a few ways to essentially fix the stutter altogether"

" Some players have reported poor performance with the Director's Cut version.

Change registry settings[9]

Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eidos\Deus Ex: HRDC
Open dword AllowJobStealing and set it to 0
Nvidia users only: go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eidos\Deus Ex: HRDC\Graphics and change AtiForceFetch4 to 0"

doing this essentially fixed the performance for the most part. Its not perfect perfect but the gameplay became much, much more smoother
Thx voted :)
https://www.gog.com/game/deus_ex_human_revolution_directors_cut is here.
I never asked for this =(
remember to vote if you want the original here:

Well this is better than nothing I guess, though the original would have been preferable

Don't forget to use this, it doesn't only add the gold filter but also fixes some visual bugs, hopefully more can be done

Nice... I wonder if they can do something about the piss-poor LOD distance as well. It's really annoying having objects only 2-3m away popping between high/low poly versions as you move about. Doubt they'll be able to do anything about the missing reflection effects though :/ Unless those are something else that's merely broken too.
Hopefully GOG is just unaware the original version is preferred by many and asks Square for it, rather than them already having asked and been told no.
I've sent a message to support to ask about/suggest it just in case. Would be great to have it here even if it's as a separate purchase.
I'll give the DC a chance but if it stutters and I can't fix it, I'm asking for a refund just out of spite to SE for not selling the original anymore. I don't even care if some objects look a bit worse, that's nothing compared to having a smooth, immersive experience.

TentacleMayor: ...immersive experience.
Having objects popping between high/low poly versions around you as you move kinda damages that aspect quite a lot :/
I guess I will skip getting this one then even the price is low.
I guess a remaster for the next console generation is probably the only possibility that might entertain Square Enix to fix their shit. A remaster that we'll likely get in 2030. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That is, if they decide to resurrect Deus Ex again in the first place. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯¯\_(ツ)_/¯
