CMOT70: Screw all them new games. Xbox One gets original Xbox backward compatibility later this year...and the first game mentioned is Crimson Skies!

Looking forward to Forza 7 too, in all these years Forza has never disapointed.
I missed that. That's exciting. I think. What were good Xbox games again? :)

Crimson skies would be fun to take up again. That game was great. I sunk lots of time into halo and fable and both of those have remade versions.

Oh! Knights of the old Republic. That would be awesome. I hate the pc version. That will be a great addition.
Nice that Cuphead finally has a release date. The original Xbox emulation thing was cool, too. Not great for preservation since their emulation requires downloading the entire game and having it DRM-checked (not sure if it's every time or just once), but it's still better than nothing.

Gonchi: Yeah, I just watched the dev forced to apologize for wanting equality and accountability but supporting the wrong labels championing those causes. What a pathetic industry gaming has become.
Ugh. Either the fires are going to start raging again, or this kind of thing is just going to be allowed to happen (also again). I'm having trouble deciding which is worse. Five minutes of looking into this and I already want to hurl myself into the sun.

Gimme Orta, gimme JSRF, gimme Blinx... so much memorable stuff!
So no one's excited for Beyond Good and Evil 2?

Dear GOG forum, you failed me. I rely on you for gaming news and you didn't deliver.

But it doesn't feel like the original... and only a very nice looking CGI video, no gameplay so I wonder how many years until it release. Also checking his website and the Space Monkey Program seems to be they still are in pre-alpha stage.

More like so appalled at the trailer I watched that I decided to immediately forget it again. ;P

No Jade, no buy.

Well let's just say that if I had a checklist of things that make me lose all interest and hope in a game BGE2 would have managed to have nearly a perfect score.

Prequel when everybody was waiting for a sequel
"player created avatar", no Jade (And given that it's 200 years before, very little hope of even a cameo)
MMO Elements
Procedural generated galaxy (which often means tons of boring filler just there for padding)
etc...

Gersen: Prequel when everybody was waiting for a sequel
I'm happy something is being done with the property. In 70 years, I'll be dead.

Gersen: "player created avatar", no Jade
I'd prefer Jade over a player-created avatar but a player-created avatar over an unlikeable fixed protagonist.

I really don't want NPC cameos of my player characters.

Gersen: MMO Elements
Dark Souls has this, and it doesn't hurt the game except for (obviously) DRM. Again, I might not live to see a DRM-free version. Life expectancy in Russia is like 55 years and falling; if it takes 20 years, I'm dead. Assassin's Creed 2 was released in 2009 and when I look back at the intervening years, I shudder at the thought of everything that's happened since. And it's not available DRM-free yet.

Maybe, maybe not. As people have pointed out, Stellaris is procedurally generated and awesome, while Mass Effect: Andromeda is prewritten by a human and shit.

Well Syndicate, Dungeon Keeper and others are here to remind us that "nothing" is sometime much better than "something" ;)

By MMO Elements I didn't mean because of the "DRM" but more because of a millions of boring, padding and grindy stuff usually found in most MMO where quantity is often a lot more important than quality (After all in a MMO you want peoples playing your game for as long as possible by all means possible). IMHO there are very few games were having this sort of "MMO Elements" actually improved the game rather than being just an easy way to artificially increase the game life. Something that usually also pretty common in Ubi games.

Stellaris is a strategy game, BGE2 is an adventure / action game, IMO it's a lot easier to handle procedural generated content in the former than in the later.

It's definitely a relief that the game is not centered on that cringeworthy monkey character, although he might still be an obnoxious sidekick. :P
