And as such I've outmanouvered them. I'm actually suspicious of people like you Trent who should be smart enough to figure that out.

HypersomniacLive: What you just said is the sort of thing that makes me want to finish you off right now... I'm starting to think that you know you're going down, and are just trying really really hard to cut this Day short before any of your mafia-buddies get caught in the limelight.

avatar
flubbucket: [...] @HypersomniacLive - Did you find the opening player posts this Day to be notable??
avatar
HypersomniacLive: Do I win anything if I said I did?

You know me, I always find something notable; sometimes I question/comment on it immediately, sometimes I don't, and wait to see how things evolve and in what direction, and sometimes it takes me a second read to notice more or other things that I missed on first parse.

So, some posts more than others, and some things more so when I read them in relation/continuation to D1.

But patience, it's still early in D2.

avatar
SirPrimalform: [...] Well let's see, ok. Why did you hope off scene's wagon at the last second? [...]
avatar
HypersomniacLive: Heh, that's the best you can do when called out?

I don't know what you mean with hope, but if that was supposed to be "hop" - I never was on his wagon to hop off, at the last second or any other point during D1.

I'm off to dinner, not sure if I'll be back on again today. Please, don't hammer supplementscene in the meantime; the Day's still young, there are things to discuss, and Bookwyrm627 hasn't even shown up yet.
Listen Einstein if I wanted to cut the day short I could simply hammer myself. How's that for blowing up your theory? What do you actually disagree with in what I stated. It all makes sense and is perfectly logical.

Yes I am pretty sure I'm going down and town will rue that. But will it give info on others?? Was Scene's likely candidates Scum or not, I will be interested to find on as the game progresses.

Posts #405 & 406 were within minutes of Start of Day. Of course I can't prove that now since the posts are listed as "yesterday."

I can't ask you questions about the game via PM while we're both still in the game. If you get modkilled and it turns out you were telling the truth, it will only be what should have happened yesterday catching up on you. I'll feel bad but I won't feel guilty.

A majority is required to lynch, that is to say more than half of the players.

When there were 13 players, half was 6.5 so 7 votes required to lynch. Today we still need 7 votes to lynch because half of 12 is 6 and we need more than half.

Yes, that was indeed meant to be hop but I must have misremembered. My point still stands though. Let me re-ask the question then.

Why didn't you join scene's wagon? Given that he'd seemingly posted his PM, he was a dead man walking. He was either about to be modkilled, or should have been lynched for lying so what good does stalling the wagon do?

Again, you must disclose your actions from last Night.
Indeed I am

Right well as I'm almost certainly lynched now. And because I won't be able to perform my surgery in the night tonight. I will state that I protected yourself. Not that you deserve it. ZFR stated (paraphrasing this time) went into your tent to offer my services but it wasn't necessary as you were perfectly well. Why we're sleeping in tents I do not know.

I think that kind of proves me as Town to anyone with a role because they will also know we're going in and out of tents

You could lynch 1 of them instead of me :) Although if they have roles like me I know I got an alert and a PM before the thread re-opened. ZFR also stated 48 hours and it was about that. I know I was F5ing hoping it would be a short night like it was in Joe's game. Why does it take 48 hours for a few PMs?

But if they did get PMs and I survive I will protect one of them. See how a doctor is a useful thing to have around now guys?

lol. Literally. I laughed out loud.

So now that you told us that your flavor when killing dedoporno was something with going into a tent and that you got a pm with that flavor before the day started. How does that make you town in any way?

Besides:
avatar
ZFR: ... You go to his tent and find his body in his sleeping bag. ...
...

On the slight Chance that you are the SK (then you already lost anyway, since you will not survive this day) you might as well give us a reads list in earnest on who you suspect is mafia and why. might be interesting and you could brag after the game if you got them right ;)
If you are Mafia yourself as I suspect, you could too, but we won't take anything in it at face value of course. Still a chance to smear and throw shade and distance if you like. *shrug*
something to pass the time at least...

I, for one, am not for dragging this day out to the bitter end. Sure we can all write out our top 2 scum suspects if scene mafia and top 3 if scene SK, but I get the feeling scum just wants this dragged out to get a better picture where town PR might be hiding and who best to nk to set up the mis-lynch for tomorrow and get some more mud and distancing in. Especially since the last EOD leaves such strong hints. I think they need the dragged out talking today much more than we do, because they already know if scene is their teammate or not (not meaning he's SK since he fake claimed) and the lynch won't give them anything new to work with.
...waiting on Bookwyrm isn't a bad Idea though. maybe he even hammers.
When you see a vote count from me, please take a second to check that your name is showing next to the correct player.

Are you ignoring me on purpose?

avatar
gogtrial34987: [...] Because I can't envision a scum mindset where they would've spent a NK on something which isn't directly beneficial to them. (And yes, that could've been either him suspecting one or more of them, or potentially him suspecting someone whom they'd otherwise find hard to mislynch, so they could try and construct an argument there, though WIFOM.)
Thinking about what you mean with your question: granted, they might've targetted him because of suspecting a PR as well. [...]
avatar
HypersomniacLive: That's not the only thing I meant with my question, there are a couple of other factors in scum's choice for the NK. And given that you're a pretty smart, observant and analytical type - should I now wonder why you didn't include them here?
Thanks for the praise and all that (++scumpoint for HSL), but I'm at a loss here. I've only ever been town, so my knowledge of scum tactics and mindset is apparently too limited. Please enlighten me which other factors could've been at play. Bonus points if you slip and admit to which of those factors was at play in this particular instance. :P

(I really hope you won't now go and mention something obvious that'll make me feel stupid for overlooking it.)

avatar
supplementscene: Exactly so if I tell Scum who I protected they guarantee a town kill by killing that Townee. If I don't, there's a chance I block
avatar
trentonlf: That makes absolutely no sense unless you know who is Town and who isn’t. Only scum have the edge in knowing who’s probably Town. My vote is not moving onto anyone else today.
Scene's argument here does make sense to me.
He (claims to have) protected someone. That someone can't be protected by him again on N2. So if scum knows who that someone is, they can target that person with much less risk of the kill not going through. Yes, there's the possibility that the person who he (claims to have) protected on N1 was scum, but the chance of that is still relatively low, so that doesn't invalidate scene's argument.

Of course, his use of the phrasing "town kill" and "that Townee" is suspect, but your focus was (imho erroneously) on him seemingly *knowing* who was town, rather than on the (claimed) 'guarantee' of a successful kill.

avatar
gogtrial34987: Same question to you as to Joe: Which particular subjects would you want to discuss in that extra time? Your interests not only feel opaque to me, you also seem to be chiefly responding to questions, and not so much pursuing anything yourself (that's my feeling based on what I remember - I apologize if rereading you will reveal that I'm wrong).
avatar
SirPrimalform: I think that's a fair assessment. I had no specific things I wanted to discuss, more that I just feel that extra discussion can only be beneficial.
To quote HSL: "Heh".
Thank you for saving me from at least this reread.
Then let me ask you this: Which of the current discussions going on, between which other players, do you feel would be beneficial to see 'completed' before EoD? And are there any conversation threads that strike you as wild goose chases or otherwise less interesting?

The part that makes no sense is he is not just saying someone but a Townie, other than flub who everyone knows is Town who could he have protected that he knows is Town that he doesn’t want to reveal? How could he know someone else is Town? If he’s really the doctor how does he know he didn’t protect scum? He keeps trying to push how super uselful he is and how we can’t do without him, but doesn’t answer questions coherently or is very evasive until a later point when he’s had time to think of an answer.

Not to defend scene, but he has by this point already claimed to have protected flub so I guess that's how he knows he didn't protect scum. Of course I think it's all a big fat lie, but that's what he said.

I'm fairly interested in what HSL was doing EoD1. I asked, but he used a mistake I made in my preceding sentence to avoid answering the important question and now apparently won't be back today.
FYI: I am aware of Day 2 start, and it looks like I'm about 80 posts behind right now. I don't yet have time to do any reading, I'm afraid, bu I'm working on getting at least some of it done tonight.
avatar
Lifthrasil: Why do you assume that there was a second NK attempt? It's not a given that there is a SK! So where does your conviction that scum was roleblocked come from?
avatar
supplementscene: So you're advising not to analyse based on logic. Good tip if you're Scum.
That doesn't even make sense!

avatar
supplementscene: You could at least have the discression to ask me the same Q via PM.
Now you're not only breaking the rules yourself, but are asking other players to do that too. Asking other players stuff about the game via PM is forbidden. Read the rules.

avatar
supplementscene: I also know I'm town. Can I protect myself, Scum don't know. Did I protect myself? Scum don't know
Assuming that scum can read the rules, they know that you can't self-protect. It's in the setup. Read the rules!

Not necessarily alignment indicative. Interesting and worth do preserve for posterity, sure. But nothing damning on it's own. Townies can sit around pressing F5 or just happen to see the Day-start. And scum can hold back to not seem over-eager. When I was scum I did wait a bit before posting. To not reveal that I knew exactly when the Day would start. ... I guess that's common sense for scum, but is of course subject to WIFOM.

avatar
supplementscene: I think that kind of proves me as Town to anyone with a role because they will also know we're going in and out of tents
No, that "proves" that you did SOMETHING at Night. Like killing someone or roleblocking someone or anything else that made you go into someone's tent. That doesn't prove you town.

@Ixamyakxim: I would be very interested in a further explanation on the questions you have been asked:
- Why did you assume that the second NK, which you thought was assured, was specifically role-blocked?
- Why were you so sure that no Masons exist in this game? They are part of the setup after all.

@Topic Scene-Vitek scumbuddies? ... No, Vitek didn't do anything specific that contradicts the scumbuddies theory. But he didn't do anything to confirm it either. And after the start of D1, Scene also stopped to appear as a buddy to Vitek. Could be that my theory at the start of D1 was wrong. Or it could be that Scene started distancing and the buddying at the start of D1 was just buddying up to a towny. In any case, since Scene has started to expose himself so drastically, everyone is suspecting him. Scum will have no choice but to suspect him too and bus him - so it's no wonder that no further ties between Scene and anyone became apparent.
