Losing is fun.

Prison Architect, the only prison you'll never want to leave, is available now for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com featuring GOG Galaxy achievements with a 33% launch discount.

After two years of alpha - Prison Architect, the premiere prison sim, is finally complete. Since its alpha premiere, it has been played by millions and became something of a household name in the indie scene, and for good reason: Prison Architect is a deep web of interlocking systems that interact with each other in complex, sometimes hilarious ways. Combined with a Dwarf Fortress-like approach, even the most insignificant problem can snowball into total chaos - but no matter what happens, losing is fun.
Playing Prison Architect is like watching the inner workings of a clock - one that you made all by yourself - and the term "like clockwork" will take on a new, particularly satisfying meaning. You'll also tackle moral dilemmas (should you find yourself anything but indifferent). Are you about precision & efficiency, do you believe criminals should be put to work, or would you prefer to do everything in your power to reintegrate them into society? Prison Architect will not be judgmental.
The Prison Architect release introduces two major features: Story Chapters, and Escape Mode.
Story Chapters are a way for new players to get acquainted with the many facets of Prison Architect. In what resembles a condensed alpha experience, the Story Chapters will increase in complexity and introduce more and more features to the game as you go on. You'll be running a full-blown, fully-simulated prison before you know it.
So you've built your prison. You've optimised your fortress of righteousness. Now, are you up to the challenge of escaping your very own creation? In an entertaining gameplay reversal, Escape mode puts you in the shoes of just another prisoner and tasks you with two goals: 1) Get by. 2) Get out. Build up your character from zero to anti hero with a multitude of perks, smuggle a teaspoon and dig your way out, or build up a reputation and start an all-out revolution.

Alongside your game, you can pick up the Aficionado DLC, and score access to the official Artbook as well as OST.

Losing is fun in Prison Architect, available now, DRM-free on GOG.com. The discount will last for one week, until Tuesday, October 13, 2:59 PM GMT.
Awesome release, i hoped it would be released on GOG!

rjspring: looks fun, but 4GB of RAM and graphics card requirements will make it unplayable on my old Mint GOG machine... :(
The RAM might be an issue, but I've run the game on FreeBSD through Wine with no graphics acceleration and it seems fine. Well, if by you mean probably 20-30 FPS which for a game like this isn't really that bad.

If you've got any graphics acceleration at all it's probably going to be OK for this game.
Don't drop the soap!

EDIT: Kinda weird that the game is $20 on sale but $15 if you already own all Introversion's previous games.

Yet another game I've bought on steam only for it to later appear DRM free. Oh well, at least I got a bundle with the steam version. Thanks for everything as always gog
I really want the DRM-Free version of this game but seriously... 13.32€ on Steam and 18.69€ here... :-/

It was on Early Access though, so not really "released". Unless you want GOG to do early access

This just puts in perspective how much people value drm free over price tag. One of the reasons why even the 1 dólar humble bundle tiers rarely appeal to me anymore.

yyahoo: Good news! Just checked mine and the date is now listed as 10/6/15.
Just seen it. Thanks for the heads-up :)

Niggles: You sound suspiciously like a certain other person who would rag on about Humble. come on mate.
I don't get this...

bad_fur_day1: create something original and fun looking (Like Kerbal Space Program) Instead of just copying something else that did well, and you'll do pretty well.

Sachys: Ahem!

(also wasnt the only game in this genre prior to PA from what ive gather during early access)

PA may be a little different, but I wouldnt say its an entirely original idea by any means
That game gives me a very strong "Dwarf Fortress easy mode" vibe. even your comments about the game-breaking bugs making it more fun.

Which is good, since I'm a DF fan ^^

I'm really glad to see this game finally come out, especially since it's the phoenix that rose out of the ashes of Subversion.
Interesting to see gog dropping the base price down to 20€ today but the discount is now only 10% (17.99€).

Edit: And now the discounted price is the same as on Steam: 13.39€. Nice to see gog responding to the pricing issues.

For some countries at least... but then, the expensive price here is the same expensive price as on steam. I hate regional pricing...

I agree i rather pay a bit more for drm free but all should be into perspective some games have simply a little high listprice compared to other games of higher standards: a procehe is mucho more expensive then and old volkwagen van bought 2nd hand.

if a game is a game i like and can run ofcourse and max 24.99 listprice
there's big chance i buy it :D

I see alot of nvidia 8600 or so, can they please at GT, GTS or the lastname aswell cause this is a bit confusing i have a old GTS 250 1 MB so i have to google evrytime to see if my old dinosaur card can handle it :D

i saw the screenshot of this game and i liked the kind of things with the images and the managment part so i decided to search for more videos on youtube.

after seeing some playthroughs the game kinda looks like that prison escape thing, with all the tiny blobs moving like crazy on the screen, the PA (prison architect) has to much motion going on at the screen at once, to many movemnets, and other little nasty motion effects i cant handle that nietehr can my eyes , so thats the only reason i will skip this game.

If a smiliar game comes around but with no little blob movements and more like rebuild 3 which i own here, then i definetly buy it if the price is right:

the offer is a little bit high for this kind of game 15 would be better , the list price is also a bit high to for this kind of game: i mean €27.99 is a lot, a few bucks more and you can have stuff like pillars or other games that look like almost AAA games, so the listprice is a little bit high.

this image looked interesting, if a game concentrates more like that, more managment and less having to move the prisoners around by hand, then that game is my kind of game.
check this screenshot on gog:
