How to train your empire.

Railway Empire is now available DRM-free on GOG.com.
All aboard! It's 1830 and the grand railroad revolution is underway with you on its locomotive! Establish the most powerful and widespread railway empire on N. America by building new routes, managing your staff, and researching technologies which will improve the quality of your transport or freight services.

Note: For Linux users, the pre-order DLC will become available at a later time.
Choo choo train, coming down the track....
Can you derail trains on purpose, Rollercoaster Tycoon style?
Looks great and has a Linux version too!

Wishlisted for now.
Noticed one review out for it so far:

Meh . Paid review .
The devs are fucking nuts. 50 bucks for a game that doesnt have large maps. Nope. wait until a sale.

Many of the Let's Play's I've seen for it are the same.

*shrug* I don't like how they do the towns.

This was my thought exactly. Why in the world would you not have a map of the entire USA, at the very least? I have not doubt however that they will DLC this to death, with large maps or each map sold separately. (Europe, etc.)
OST goodie has no label in the library.
I can't help but notice a troubling amount of menu time.

And the UI seems a little clunky?

And it's a bit silly that the USA is the only location and you can't play it all.

This looks like Sid Meier's Railoads or Rails Across America, not Railroad Tycoon. Where's the stock shortselling and cutthroat competition?

And you can say the graphics look nice until the cows turn blue, but it still doesn't change the fact that the game looks a bit too...dusty.

50 dollars isn't helping when RRT3 is 2.49 on sale and 10 bucks normally.

Fifty Dollars? No. Will wait and see how much DLC you're expected to buy for more map area. Game will be $100 before it has a good range of map options, I'm afraid.

Graphics are nice, but I'm also a bit put off by the hostility to a "pause" function. Real-life managers/planners spend a LOT of time in "pause" mode, so a realistic management game should reflect that. If it's a good game, there will be complex challenges & decisions. Bus Ad School will teach you not to make ill-considered judgments, but this game seems to demand them. This isn't DOOM.

I think that this will be only temporary.
You were entitled to a free OST (and an "exclusive locomotive skin") because you pre-ordered this game. (Source) Right now the OST isn't in the shop as a separate item - but customers have get to get it somehow.
I have already written to the support about this. Might be a missing flag in the database, might be miscommunication or a missing signature from Kalypso Media Digital. Either way I'm confident that the OST will arrive in the shop rather sooner than later.
