I'm not saying I agree with those people (at least, not on the removal of a black person unless that person is historically inaccurate; the other two are perfectly valid mod concepts). However, if you don't like what someone says on the internet, you ignore them and move on like an adult rather than throwing a fit over what others say.

That's our biggest problem in the world today. Too many overly-sensitive people who think that free speech only applies to "accepted speech".

Really? I thought it's people lacking even the basic empathy to understand what a shitty, hostile, and xenophobic place their country has become thanks to an absolute concept of free speech.

No ... I don't think we need free speech for russo-fascist propaganda. And that's not just because we'd be supporting history revisionism, rampant homophobia, horrid conspiracy nonsense, far reaching censorship and – drumroll – genocide.

It's because the extreme, the outrageous, the disruptive idea will always dominate and hence destroy the public discourse. These ideas can not be ignored. That is literally a psychological impossibility.

We also need education and critical thinking and a lack of counter-propaganda to combat it.

The only way to beat propaganda is to educate and be aware and deal with it. You can't ban it.

Absolutely the same is true for neo-Nazi propaganda which is probably controversial in Germany but you can't suppress an idea you can only educate.

Same for anti-vaccine or any other stupidity in the world. Education is the way not censorship.

It is not only suitable, but required, because in todays world, it's the only way to not attract flak. Especially if you're in the middle ground, you're going to get flak from both extremes. So you end up being a Nazi and Woke. A Woke Nazi so to speak.

Seriously, look at how much hate and spite is coming from exactly those who declare they want to censor hate speech. Look at how the "inclusives" decorate their events. I went past one such and there was a huge placard that literally said: "Don't be a Nazi!". Which means that everybody who isn't in support of their LGBTQ agenda is labelled as a Nazi, even and including those who just aren't against, but neither in favor of, it.

It's doing nothing but polarize and separate, forcing everyone to take one side, if only by labelling them the moment they say a single sentence. "Either you're with us, or your're the enemy". This is no discussion, it's mutual aggression.

Probably I'm now a Nazi for having said this.

In Europe, we have very low tolerance for hate speech. Countries that enforce this include Poland, Germany, France, Denmark, UK, etc. GOG operates out of Poland.

In the US, hate speech is tolerated because of their First Amendment, but inciting violence contradicts the Fourteenth, so that negates the Freedom of Speech clause.

As the mod in question is not inciting violence, it's not illegal in the US.

However, it is still illegal in Europe, and GOG is required by law to remove it within 24 hours. It's been there since Friday afternoon.

So, to all HighHorsians, stop being lazy. Surely you can click a couple of links and read a few words to educate yourself as to why this is considered hate speech in Europe, why it's been legally valid since 1948, and why the statement of, "just ignore it" does not fly in Europe. It's illegal. No ifs or buts.

If you can't be bothered to educate yourself, I don't see why your arbitrary opinions should be taken into account. I can manually paste what's on the United Nations page if you're too lazy to check it out.

Personally, I thought the Watson Whore ad in CP was funny. Even CDPR has a sense of humor. I even like the Judy romance timeline. Yet I've never heard anyone squack about such "risque things" in CP. Lighten up doods, a mod is a mod. If it doesn't fit your taste, so be it, don't use it. But who cares? It's just a video game.
