HeDanny: ok, how do I buy (what I don't already have from) today's sale, and my personal deal at the same time?
does this suggestion help?

IanM: Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is my other recently wishlisted classic. Was the original 2D game ever on GOG? I'd like that and SoT, but not any of the others.
No, the original 2D isn't on here.
Thanks, but no that doesn't work. I can add "Lords of Midnight" to the cart on its own for the discounted price and it stays there no matter where I browse away to within the site. However, there is no way to add the personal deal to the basket that I can see. I can only go straight to checkout which bypasses the basket and ignores the game in there. I tried adding "Triple Town" to the basket from the catalog, but it does not get added at the personal deal discount, only the curent catalog price.

in that case try adding Lord of Midnight to your wishlist, then go click buy on the daily deal, you should be able to add LoM from the column on the left of the order summary
I tried that as well. Despite Lords of Midnight being in my wishlist, it does not show up in that list. I have around 70 games in my wishlist right now. I added about 50 from that list on the right until it stopped giving me any more options. Lords of Midnight never appeared as an option.

I tried that same thing four times, in two different browsers, but by then I was used to the games that were showing up in the list, and they are not random, it offered me the same 50 or so games all eight times.
can you temporarily delete a bunch of games from the wishlist then and add them back afterwards? open each one in a new tab before deleting might save a bit of time when you come back to re add them

Yes you can delete games from your wishlist and add them back on later (im wondering if i read what u said right...)
Poor phrasing on my part. I know that you can, I was just trying to suggest doing so, even though it's obviously going to be a PITA

This worked. Thankyou for your time mate. +1 to you.

..now to add those 50 or so games back to my wishlist.. le sigh
pack1: Sail, Trade and Plunder
only 2\4 good games (6$) sold for $7.45

pack2: Tactical Strike
4\5 good games (17$) sold for $10.45

..and most people voted for the first pack.
Congrats -_-'

Yeah, I'm willing to agree that the second pack contains better games (at least average user ratings confirm it) but people don't vote for better games but for a better deal. I can easily imagine quite a lot of people having everything from the second bundle with the exception of Andosia War (but they are not willing to get it anyway). Games in the first bundle are (and have always been) rather unknown (again, one exception - Pirates!) so I guess many people do not have them. They may see voting for the first bundle as a good opportunity to get those unknown games dirty cheap and try them. If they are good (personally I think Patrician series is excellent) - it'll be great! If not - not a big loss. Voting for the second bundle, may mean nothing to them - they already have everything they wanted.

People will vote for what interests them the most, not for what is objectively considered as "good". And frankly, I do not believe anything can be objectively considered as good. Personal opinion and taste will always colour one's perception of anything, and that is particularly true for video games: one player's boredom will be another player's fun.
Take the current vote; on one hand you have modern day and sci-fi flavoured strategy; on the other hand you have pirates. If you add the fact that Fallout Tactics is now owned by probably 95% of GOG's user base because of the recent giveaway, and the fact that the pirate bundle is cheaper... It shouldn't be much of a surprise that pirates are winning. :)

I would have loved it if the Tactical Strike bundle had won. I have what I want out of the first bundle, but I don't have Jagged Alliance 2 or Silent Storm, both of which I was hoping to pick up during this sale. I hope they show up in another deal... haven't seen them feature in the random picks, but maybe last day of sales will contain all the bundle options?
Does the GOG version of Sensible World of Soccer 96/97 have any compatible mods or database updates ?

True, I'm not saying that everybody wants the first bundle, there are more than 2500 votes for the second after all. But I've compared the position of games from both bundles in the bestselling list. Jagged Alliance and Fallout Tactics are very high on the list. Ground Control 2 and S2: Silent Storm are clearly higher than the middle point. Battle Isle is pretty low. On the other hand we have Pirates which is definitely well above the middle point, Patrician 3 (we are not even sure if this game will be in this bundle!) and Port Royal 2 are somewhere in the middle, Patrician 1+2 and Port Royal 1 are below the average and Corsairs are pretty close to the end of the list. It means that significantly less people own games from the first bundle and as I said: they are willing to try those game if they can buy them cheap.

Obviously, this effect alone cannot explain 1500 vote high difference but it was already discussed: a lot of people who don't care much about any bundle will trust the community and vote for more popular deal. I would dare to say that the first hour of voting is the most important - the bundle that gets more votes in this time will only increase its domination. At least my observations so far confirm this theory.
