Section updated: Don't forget about your gamer friends that may not know GOG.com yet! Sadly, for the sake of unburdening what servers we have, we had to turn off the option for gifting free games. But you can always just let them know they can sign up with GOG.com and claim a free gift of Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics. On top of that, when they register to our service, they'll receive all the 12 free games we add to all the newly-created accounts. That way your friends will start their adventure with GOG.com with a collection of 15 great games total already on their virtual shelves! Be kind, share the good news! :-)

We'd also like to remind you, that all purchases on GOG.com are now covered with our new 30-day Worldwide Money Back Guarantee, so your holiday gaming shopping spree is safer than it ever was before.

banedon: Not sure about the 'business sense' of a company giving away free stuff and, insodoing, preventing hundreds (if not more) of customers from actually paying for things they are trying to buy.

I'm sure all of the slacker newbie gamers who didn't already own the Fallout series appreciate the free copies of games they will likely never play, but it sucks that the strain they are placing on the servers is keeping me from being a paying customer.

Somewhere along the line someone here failed at forethought.
I hadn't had copies of Fallout on GOG yet, and I really appreciated getting them for free.

Deep breaths, the sale has only been going for what, 4 hours or so? You'll get your games, they're just working through stuff at the moment.
Ok... since hours I only get "Your payment's status could not be verified due to temporary technical issues." when trying to buy games...
GOG, please fix this.
Ooh, I just happened to be debating trying out the fallout series... so this worked out nicely, thanks GOG!
How did the servers somewhat make it though Insomnia Sale with constant hammering or rush purchases and freebie grabs but poop out with a routine 24-48 hour deal? That's odd.
Heh. So this is what too much cheer looks like!

I'm trying to buy something - managed to get my Fallouts, thanks - but that doesn't look like it's going to happen. My special Random Deal was a discount on Hammerfall, and I might have picked that up but for the page crash (and I guess once you've seen the deal, it goes away for good). Anyway, if I can ever get into the store, I'm planning to buy Arcanum at last, because at this reduced price - well, I have the original retail box, but this way I won't have to fiddle with it. And who knows what else I'll find in there?

And you know what? I loved the Insomnia sale, and this one is looking pretty awesome as well. I trust that someone is getting in and spending money. And tell your IT folks that this IT guy feels their pain.
How does Trine 1 randomly end up being just $0.99? That's a good deal.
I don´t get how the entire sale works...

So we have:
1) Two packs offered at a high discount.
2) A random discount pick from 3 pools of games.
3) Many more games discounted.

So the first two are daily. How long we´ll have the rest? There are games I want discounted, but I don´t know if they will keep discounted the rest of the days...

And how works the random discounts? Is it totally random?
Surprise, surprise. GOG's getting hammered as usual during the freebies. It probably doesn't help that this 'deal' has also been advertised on most of the bigger gaming sites. Still, I love it! A nice little 'fuck you' directed at Bethesda. ;)

I find it interesting how GOG has rustled up some of these YT 'personalities' for some of their special deals. Something wee bit different. That said, there's no actual mention of how long the actual Winter sale will be. So, does anyone know the cutoff date?

Urgh. Looking at today's special deals, I'm already contemplating buying more than I thought I would: Shadow Warrior, Magrunner, Amnesia, Outlast, and... Omerta. The latter may not look $40 worth, but at that price I don't think I can do much wrong, especially as I always thought the game actually looks fun - it probably also helps that a lot of the reported initial issues have been patched up by now.

Lastly, what happened to last week's 'enigmatic hint' game? As far as I can tell, it has not shown up yet. Then again, this week's release schedule has been thrown out of whack, so it may still show up tomorrow.

viperfdl: Hmm, on the mainpage Shadow Warrior (2013) is offered for $26.66 but on the gamepage it is offered for $9.99. So what is right?
9.99 because of today's special promo price for it. Figured GOG would have it that low at one point during this sale, as I've seen it going that low on other sites. I think I'll bite very hard on that, seeing as the game has gotten quite a good feedback.
