Bought Blood 2 last night at Gamersgate, decided to get it there as I had enough blue coins to get it free and replace my ageing disc copy. After it had finished downloading and the installer started much to my surprise it is actually the GOG version with the the GOG installer.

Guessing this will also be the case with things like Commandos and M&M IX and a few others that I have actually yet to notice (Have Commandos & M&M IX here on my shelf at GOG)

Have GOG set up some sort of deal with GG for some of the classic titles over there? Not forgetting that on the page for Blood 2 for example it does say DRM free but nowhere does it actually mention that it is the GOG version.
It's most likely a deal with the publishers. We make the game compatible, you give us let's say a year of exclusivity, and then you can give it to other digital stores.
I guess it's more a deal with the publisher, which is allowed to use the installers. Ubisoft did it with Settlers 2 long ago and the DnD games were also from gog. I believe the same it's for the Fallout games, which sells Interplay on their own site.

Edit: Too slow, Annigan was faster ;-)

Was thinking along those lines, just surprised in all honesty, moreso that GOG dont get any form of credit for their fixes and installers on the games page.

GamersGate have been asked about this before. Their response is that they use only the files provided to them by the publisher. So you could be right, but whatever details of that are between GOG and the publisher.

But they use the installer, which is a good advertisement for them. Worst case would be if publishers would repack the games using their own installer.
Oh... I thought so far that GamersGate copies are just retail copies, without GOG fixes.

But in that case GOG may loose a lot of revenue in long term. Because if for example, DnD games are from GOG installers and were sold several times cheaper than on gog (in a DnD pack), GOG will not see a single penny of it.

I think it's a bad thing, that others may use GOG.com works without limits and gather only the profits...
That's cool.
Is Blood 2 windows 7 compatible, if I may ask?

I believe DnD games are a special case. For me it seems Atari tried to get with sales the most money out before the licenses went to Hasbro. While GOG has a deal with Hasbro it seems all other distributors not, they need to negotiate with Hasbro to bring back the games.

As far as I can compare (dotemu, gg) the prices are mostly equal. Another good reason to buy directly from gog are the support and maybe updates in the future. We don't if and how often the publishers will give the other publishers updates.
Hey, one thing:

If I'm mistaken, or Icewind Dale, Baldur's gate, Neverwinter, etc etc disappeared from GG catalogue?

Yes, and not only from Gamersgate.

No you are not mistaking and they have disappeared from shelfs too...
So GOG.com is now the only place where you can buy these games. Good for gog!

Also, NWN2 coming to gog would be nice.
