Tychoxi: If I were God, why would I want to send anyone to Hell? Why would I create such a place in the first place?

So you really believe there's a crime(s) so hideous that it deserves - and justifies - the most unthinkable kind of torture, and that that torture should last FOREVER? And that they should be sent AFTER they have died (ie. after they have already killed, maimed, raped and pillaged and can no longer hurt ANYONE)?

And this is coming from someone who is for the death penalty in those cases of irredeemable people who really hinder society and the potential happiness of its individual members..

Even assuming divine insight and infallibility, there's still the ontological requirement of there being a personal attribute of "being evil" for your idea to be applicable (so we can even BEGIN to argue whether it's just). While I don't mind the idea of objectively good and evil DEEDS, I do object to the theory that there are people beyond redemption - perfectly, spotlessly "black". Much less - a substantial number of them.

Also - what Tychoxi said.

Yep, who needs hell when god can use reincarnation
What's the big deal about who goes first? God should be able to send loads of people at the same time, it's not like he uses an enough-space-for-one-man-only elevator.

Besides, hell is pretty much pointless. You go there if you've been bad and you die, right? And it's supposed to be some kind of punishment? The purpose of a punishment is for you to learn a lesson and not do your bad deed again, but if you're dead, what's the point? What's the point of punishing people who are already dead and cannot do any more evil in the world?

No, you would be proud that you created Chuck Norris.

orcishgamer: The old god, he's an utter asshole, after all. No one deserves it more.

But, there is no god.
LOL :D

I'd probably end up killing Jesse Custer from Preacher.

Why would God reincarnate someone who would wreak havoc?

Just a joke about how people tend to create their own hell, wasn't being serious :P

Chuck Norris? Really?

Richard Harrison!
Westboro Baptist Church.
I would abolish Hell. Forcing anyone to suffer for eternity is truly evil and malevolent.
Well, let's see...

If I were "God" I would start by asking myself, if I'm omniscient and omnipotent, if I am everything and created everything, why in the world would I need to create a race of beings to worship me? What could they possibly offer me that I don't already have? And being God, I already have everything because I am everything. And if I admitted that I "needed" them for some reason, would that not point to some weakness or lack, thereby destroying my "I am everything" argument?

And if there was a Hell, wouldn't it be part of me because I created it? Am I good or bad? And would I really care about punishing people forever if they "disobeyed" me? Wouldn't that be giving them too much power? After all, I am the all-powerful one. Why would I even care?

I wouldn't send anyone to Hell. I would just kill them. Remember the flood?
