Yes, i would appreciate to stay civil and simply explain to each others why they could be wrong. Suspect and "conspiracy theory" are part of human brain, but a human isnt "low rated" nor "insulting" in nature, thats a illusion, and really not a good one.
But once again, im not sure why the bashing vs. GOG and do people actually think how the ecomonics really works? Thats funny because i suggest they should take a look at Rockstar for example, GTA5 would smash down the whole GOG market 1000 times in a row when it comes to "greed value" or "market economics", because they made far above 1 billion $ profit margin and can consider themself dirty rich, thus exceeding everything ever made. Thats the stuff the cash is located... mainstream-cliche-franchise stuff is the key-word.. They can come with several DRM at once and proprietary distribution too and its not a matter at all to them.
Hope the bashers think twice about the stuff they say and how "guilty" GOG truly "appears to be": GOG as a distributor is slowly improving and becoming succesful in theyr own category (and im glad) but they are in no way a ruler (not in a economical way) and they may pay big time for having a "ethical" attitude. Because the world richest companys, i could write down all of them, they are considered the ones with the lowest "ethical value", but very very very successful.
Another thing to add: Many users may not know but GOG (including project red) is really working hard for YOUR good: For example:
1.. They are against PIPA/SOPA (very rare in the software industry), and they truly mean it, its not clean washing or populism, its simply not theyr way "how to deal with".
2. They made a very high effort in order to be able to release System Shock 2 on GOG, because it was very complicated with licensing situation and they just work hard into bringing the users the stuff almost impossible to get in any "legal way". Its one of the most legendary games ever made and they have the essence of "real gamers". They arnt just "money hogs" and just trying to give the best supply to "mainstream-franchise-hipsters". They work hard to give the gamers real good old games and not just "new hype games", Thats not even theyr primary focus, because release of System Shock 2 is a good example that they work hard in order to achieve theyr goals. No one made more of the old games compatible to new systems than GOG i believe and amount is increasing.
3. All users will have a 30 day money back warranty in term a game wont work because of technical issues, and considering the high risk of incompatibility its hard truck of a warranty. Because "old games" tend to act incompatible, its theyr weakest spot... not the "hardware demand". Although, so far not a single game was unable to be run on my WIN 7 machine, simply great work.
I could write down a huge list of all the good stuff, i dunno why some people may think critical regarding a few "possible" comments probably linked to GOG they may have released, its just out of "proportion".
