Ugh... Sounds a lot like "Press X to win" -.- That's exactly what I feared. Let's wait and see what others will say about the game.
The hype on games like this is disgusting. I'll enjoy this game 10 times more in a year or two when it has dialed down. Also, from what I've seen this is very much Press E-everywhere kind of game but in a GTA environment.
A friend just passed me this video and asked me to post it here.

Why doesn't he post it himself? Who knows...

It's a pretty critical video of the gameplay. That scene with the truck and not being able to jump the fence kills any "all control to the player" slogan I've heard about this game. And I'll leave before I start a rant praising Deus Ex's emerging gameplay.

This video made me sad. Those clipping errors remind me of the early 3D era and the truck scene makes Aiden look like a clown. But trains stopping immediately when something is on the rails could be an interesting idea! Wasn't Watch Dogs a game with lots of Nvidia features? We should ask them to implement PhysX into physics. Could save quite some lives (especially if we could transfer those breaks into road cars)! And the worst part is "Press X to be awesome"... Really... How can you make THE main part of the game (hacking) a "Press X" feature? Even QTEs would have been a better idea (I hate QTEs)...

I'll have another look at the game when the GotY is released. They can't patch hacking, but maybe they'll get rid of some of those ridiculous immersion breakers... Even most of the critical reviews do recommend to give the game a chance, so I'm still planning to play it one day.
Another Critical Review of the game.
I've read a review about the pc version today. It wasn't too positive. Clipping and some other errors.
Another reader posted a comment stating that the pc version apparently uses console settings which cannot be changed in-game. You need to change 1 or more files in the game directory.. He posted a link to a video with explanation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1SEitF63P4
As I don't have the game, I can't confirm if this is true and if it's working.
SPOILERS

I found this "critique" of the story in Watchdogs: Special Digital Abridged Edition. I read it complete since I'm not interested in the game and found it funny.

Thought this was quite clever, I was pretty stoked about this game but ultimately it doesn't seem to differentiate itself enough from other open world games, which is a pity considering its original premise is what had set it apart from other AAA games back in E3 2012...
