vp21ct: I click on the link and this is all I get.
Due to the giant wave of traffic that we're currently experiencing, we are having some intermittent issues with the website, including checkout, resetting passwords, forums and support section. Other website issues may arise as well, but most of the time, you can solve them yourself by trying again after a minute or two. We apologize for the inconvenience.
CHECKOUT:
If the checkout page refreshes after you try to process the order, gets stuck until it times out, or doesn't redirect you to PayPal, your credit card or PayPal account will not be charged. This applies to any payment problem that doesn't result in a "There was a problem processing your order" page.
If you don't receive an error message when checking out, you don't need to contact support to fix anything. Just wait a minute or two and try again.
PASSWORD RESET:
If you get a 404 page after using the password reset link, just use the link again after minute or so. It should work eventually.
SUPPORT SECTION, FORUMS AND OTHER ISSUES:
If you're having problems submitting support tickets, using the forums, or accessing any other part of the site, please wait a while and try again. If the problems persist for a longer time, please contact us.
This has gone on for about a week.
Yeah, the GOG team came up with a really effective marketing scheme, and then completely underestimated how effective it would be. Oh well, businesses can't make great decisions all the time.
EDIT: I request my key and got it a few hours later. Awesome!
I'm starting to wonder if there's some kind of specific thing people have to do to get their request routed correctly that isn't explained clearly enough in the instructions.
Also, I'm not sure why GOG hasn't started offering an automated system for this. Oh well.
