Soon, you’ll be able to play your favorite games from our store, like the Witcher series or Cyberpunk 2077, on multiple devices of your choice. We’re teaming up with Amazon Luna cloud gaming service to give you even more ways of enjoying your titles, while still keeping our mission of DRM-free gaming.

We’ve set up a blog post explaining everything in more detail so make sure to check it out HERE.

What’s most important is that on Luna you’ll be able to play every game that you already own on GOG (and that is also available on Luna). There’s absolutely no requirement to purchase anything twice – you bought it once on our platform so it’s always yours, as always.

Moreover, it works both ways. You’ll be able to buy games that are available on GOG via Luna’s client and they will go straight into your GOG library.

Check out the blog post and have a great one!

Hey guys! Please read the whole blog post. Our mission is to be a DRM-free platform and teaming up with Luna isn't here to change that.

Playing offline, storing externally, having offline installers - all the DRM-free goodness that we offer will always be there for you. What this collaboration means, is that you, if you want to, can also play the games you own on GOG via cloud service. Great thing to use if you're travelling a lot or your hardware can't handle certain titles.

And you won't need to purchase any game more than once. When you buy the game you can then play it on Luna, via offline installers, or via GOG GALAXY. How you play it is entirely up to you - the game is yours.

I feel so tired: I still blame the people who voted for steam like features in he first Gog survey .
I'm convinced that GOG, even moreso back then, was so detached from the userbase that they would have pushed those features through regardless of the survey results because they seem to be obsessed with chasing trends and trying to do all the things in a very 'underpants gnome' fashion.

SargonAelther: I don't mind this. More ways to play GOG games are welcome, as long as this service remains FULLY OPTIONAL without any Luna-Exclusive Rewards.
Amazon Luna has an integration with Twitch. These would be Twitch Drops which already exist and are used in CP2077.

SargonAelther: Now here's the big question... If we buy a GOG game via Luna, will it get marked as owned on GOG.com or not?

It is not a stupid question... not for GOG.
Same opinion here, as long as Offline Installers are offered I am on board with extra features. I would say that the games that you buy you will have the option to play on Luna in the cloud as well as Offline and GOG Galaxy download? Correct?
I'm ok with this. More options is good. You can stream steam games with Geforce NOW. There's some GOG games on it too. But they are scarce.
So, now GOG can fight back with an alternative.
I'm just not happy that it's Amazon
And yes, I've used Geforce NOW, for games I could not have been playing otherwise. Or that kept crashing on old laptop..

If this partnership is something that GOG needs to keep its footing in the industry, then I don't mind it. There seems to be no negative consequence for offline backup installers.
I can't ever see myself using a service like that but I guess there's no harm in your trying it.

Even if it does, it's not without negative consequences for others. Eg, anything that's an official GOG feature needs supporting and becomes yet another 'service' that stretches GOG's already very thin customer service support resources even more thinly, ie, how many extra support tickets is this going to create re: flaky Galaxy integration and assuming no extra staff are hired to handle them, how much additional "support time" will that impose on everyone else?...
I rather GOG did something with Nvidia GeForce NOW. Not sure if I even have an Amazon account.

Streaming? No, thanks.

But as long is fully optional, so be it.

Twitch rewards, as annoying as they are, are not exclusive to Luna. I have them unlocked already. So as long as they don;t make any new ones that ACTUALLY require playing via Luna, then it'll be fine.

I'll take a pass. I joined GOG and recommend it to friends for collecting and enjoying PC games. Instead of emulating Steam, GOG should devote more resources into obtaining noteworthy matured games. Look at how limited GOG's racing and horror games inventory is. Just reading the comments tells the story and GOG should be taking cues from us, the members, as to what we want to buy. How about another Far Cry or two? The Need for Speed franchise is old and Steam doesn't offer titles like Underground anymore.

I'd argue the Amazon customer service will be the one in charge here.
Can't wait to watch gog twitch streams like this ( sarcasm )
