Ok so a little while ago when I won a giveaway this user named BranjoHello instantly as soon as the winner was announced before I even got the prize from the generous gifter asked me if he could have the spare keys he only needed one of them so he said he would give the other away, he didn't really put it very politely he seemed to be quite demanding so I chose to not respond to his message I brushed it off as if nothing happened and continued on with life but now the issue after hearing many reports from various users that they too have been begged for free things by this user, I had to do something so I chose to create this thread I mean there is the gifting threads and the ninja threads a lot of generosity goes on in those but when it comes to begging by personal messages then it becomes an inconvenience or annoyance.
Have any of you guys been affected by this?

Sorry for the long message but I really think this needs to stop not just for me but mostly for other users.
As for your question: yep. ;)

Let me to grab the chance to say you: Happy (belated) Birthday! Hope you had a good one? :)

BTW, how is your wife doing, Elvin?

Its ok no problem this thread is just made because simply sending the person doing this a personal message is not going to solve anything it needs to be revealed to the public so that they are aware that this has been going on hopefully the cause of this will read the thread and stop pestering people with requests and stay in the gifting threads I have no problem with this person staying here or anything they just need to not give others a hard time
I've run two or three giveaways and I've never really experienced begging, per se, but yeah, I could see how that could become an issue for some. Maybe it's because I don't do as many as a lot of the most generous guys here, so my rate of irritation levels are lower.

It didn't bother me at all honestly up until others started telling me randomly about how the same happened to them so that is what made me want to step in and try to put an end to it as it seems to bother people
I have that guy message me today also asking for a duplicate code i received by incident through Thespian.
Then Thespian told me he also got Branjo asking for games, the same day he asked me.
There are many contests for everyone to enter, there are 2 threads specficially for asking games, heck i probably wouldn't mind if i'd someone was just asking someone just once.
But if you are gonna harass several people through pm's for it and make a habit of it, then you are seriously taking the wrong path.

Gotcha. Yeah, I'd say that constitutes harassment. A lot of people give out portions of THEIR money to hook people up with free games in this community. I'd hate to see that go away due to overzealous people. I hope things work ouy for you!
I've had a few people ask me for keys directly in PM, including the member you mention here. Generally it doesn't bother me when it occurs within the context of one of my giveaways, but I don't tolerate it when the attitude is that I am a resource to be exploited. Your are quite within your rights to feel the way you do, and it's unfortunate for things to escalate to the point where you need to start a thread on it. Typically the new beggars learn pretty quickly that no-one is going to rush out and buy a AAA game from another site for some yutz with 1 rep. But clearly some of them need a sterner talking to.

Fact is the guy mentioned isn't exactly new either, he should know.
I've done several dozen giveaways and I can tell you that the quickest way to get nothing from me is to beg in a PM. I don't mind giving games away at all, but requesting through a PM? That just smacks of entitlement to me and rubs me the wrong way.

True enow. I've made a posting in the Non-GOG thread about this topic, since it can be useful to catch the new folks up on etiquette as well.
Not sure if it has been mentioned, but you could click the "block and report" contact from the message you received
There's a "block and report" option in the messages section. Why is that insufficient to get him dealt with?

We've already had a thread on begging where we agreed that they are annoying and unwanted, excluding real beggars with serious life issues/down on their luck that survive on charity. So now that we all officially don't like them, it's best to come up with a proposal rather than complain some more. :)
