mrtophat101: So I pre-ordered Botanicula.

Today I see the humble bundle.

'Ok, it kind of sucks that I already bought it on GOG, but I'll buy the bundle anyways because Machinarium is awesome.'

I buy the bundle, I come here and now I see I'll be getting Machinarium for free tomorrow...

Good thing money isn't really an issue to me, but I can see how people with less money feel a bit f'ed up the a.
I did the same :)

Some odd statements in there.
Letting GOG.com take pre-orders a mistake ?
So their goal was the HIB and the GOG.com advertising and such a mistake....

Is it me, or is the English in that statement abysmal?
When the need aries, GOG leave disputes between and stand as one big fist. That's great.

And Amanita you assholes! I've pre-ordered Botanicula here on GOG too. It is not important but what you do to GOG wasn't forgivable. I can see where are you heading if you grow too much.

It's called damage control and so far they fail at it...
Guys keep in mind that Amanita design is really small studio and they are mostly artists with no knowledge of complex management. It wasn't intencional from their side and they want to redeem themselfs so don't be mad.

They don't seem to understand we are not mad at them that they did a Bundle (so we could pay less - because most of us would pay ~10$ anyway).

We don't think they behave fair about their deal with GOG.

This isn't a crime, but it leaves a bad taste. That's all. Everything else is overreaction.

I am not really mad, because the money isn't really an issue to me, but I can see why other people think this is a pretty big f'up on the part of Amanita.

And, let's be honest, this is not about complex management...

you don't think 1 person in the studio would have thought "You know what? Releasing this game in a bundle on release day might really annoy our sales partners..." or even "Maybe we should let our sales partners know theres going to be a bundle..." or even "Maybe we should offer the sales partners the same deal as the bundle while it's running..."
come on they may be small but seriously they must have known about the HIB when making the deals with GOG and GG it's bad faith dealing plain and simple.
I didn't like the last part of the apology. Sounds a bit sarcastic ( "I hope it’s not that terrible deal for $9 you paid to support us")

kerosseno: nevermind..
It's a non-apology apology
Just forgive them. They already issue an apology and offer some sort of compensation. They deserve another chance, just like everybody else.

I agree, but the question remains, why on earth did no one at Amanita Design say : 'You know what, this might actually piss of GoG, GG, and their costumers.'

Maybe poor negotiating skill from their representative, or poor marketing plan. I don't know, but kinda sad all the hard work from the developer ruined by this mistake.

Unless everyone at Amanita had a last minute rush of blood to the head, they *knew* the game was going to be included in a humble bundle. All they had to do was issue a rider to the pre-order stating that would happen.

How many people do you think would have pre-ordered under those circumstances ?

While they may have been focused on finishing the game they've displayed a lack of common sense (towards customers, GOG and GG), and a lack of common courtesy (including the 'apology').
