iWi: Curiosity: is there a list of games that GOG will be able to distribute forever (not to sell forever , but to let users that bought them download them forever) and another one of games that GOG won't be able to distribute forever? Can this list (if existing) be made public?
P.S.: forever = until GOG exists ;-)

See their answer here.
Rest assured, at this moment in time, we don't have any other games in the same situation and we'll do our best to make sure this sort of thing doesn't happen again.

Catshade:

Thanks.

iWi: Yes we did - this was part of the deal. It could have been better indeed, but I believe having these titles for even limited time is better than not having them at all.

After the TOCA/Colin thing (i.e. us being forced to send the above quoted e-mail) we are working on making sure, that ALL games will be available forever. We will keep you posted on it and we hope, that even TOCA and Colin will stay for much longer or maybe even forever as well - of course only as a redownloadable back-up copy.

That's great, cheers iWi.
This is one of the reasons why I love this place, you guys actively listen to the community. The TOCA/CMR thing was unfortunate, but that's just the way it goes sometimes. At least you guys are looking to learn from the set back, instead of shrugging your shoulders and carrying on regardless. Keep up the good work.

We are doing our best, but mistakes also happen from time to time. We are also community at the end of the day and we feel the pain of not being able to re-download already purchased games. I hope we will be able to resolve it soon.

Danda: Surprise! I said this:
"I agree. It sucks for the people that still don't know GOG and who may arrive after these games are pulled from the catalogue, but for the ones who are already here... Well, I already own Toca 3 and CMR 2005 for unlimited time, so I think it was really a good thing."
Well, now I get this email from GOG:
-----------------------
To attention of all TOCA Race Driver 3 and Colin McRae Rally 2005 owners‏
Dear GOG.com Customer,
Thank you for purchasing TOCA Race Driver 3 and/or Colin McRae Rally 2005 from GOG.com.
As we announced on GOG.com, TOCA Race Driver 3 and Colin McRae Rally 2005 had to be removed from our games catalogue as per our licensing agreement with Codemasters. Due to some expiring licenses within the games, Codemasters is obliged to withdraw copies of TOCA Race Driver 3 and Colin McRae Rally 2005 from all sales outlets within a certain time period, which includes GOG.com and its servers.
This means that the games won't be available to re-download from your GOG.com account as of August 29th 2009 (TOCA Race Driver 3) and October 29th 2009 (Colin McRae Rally 2005). We know it would be ideal for these games to be available for re-download forever and we're working on this, however we kindly ask you to download the games and back them up on CDs, DVDs or flash drives.
Sorry for any inconvenience this causes.
GOG.com Team

Well, am I the only one who feels ripped off? I only bought this games because I thought I would keep them.
First the CD-only Overseer release and now this. For me, GOG doesn't have a flawless track record anymore.

Jeez GOG should have put this in our e-mails on this site. Too easy to lose in the mass of spam at my Yahoo account. I didn't know this till reading your post.
Also, bummer. I like having my stuff on GOG for when I need it. This is kinda silly.
