Me too! I love the GOG summer and winter sales, along with most of the themed and heavily discounted ones (Irish sale, Insomnia sale, 60%-70%..etc). And I've got a GOG wishlist a mile long, since I need to budget my finances. Thus I will always have games to buy every now and then. So sales, good discounts, are all very welcome! =)

Hey people! Did anyone see this yet? The start day leak for Steam's Summer Sales.

https://www.paysafecard.com/en-us/lp-promotions/steam-summersales/

If GOG is starting around the same time as last year, won't it clash? Or are GOG's Summer Sales going to be much later this year or will there sadly be no sale?

Ouch, this sentence will be linked all across the boards from now on I think :D

Summer Solistice is June 21.

I wonder if there will be a free game again.

If Steam sale is confirmed to start June 19, I wonder how GOG will compete with their sale.

Egad's it's not even summer, yet. The temperature outside would disagree.

darthspudius: Why do people focus more on sales then they do actually playing games?
Our distant ancestors were once conditionned to gather resources (fruits, small preys) to ensure their survival ( and to limit the development of their competitors). Some aspectys of human behaviour are still bound by this conditionning. And as mammooth are a bit scarce nowadays, games provide an adequate replacement...

But in that case, a nice boxed game is better... much more substance, digital copy are fat-free...

Retail games are often full of intrusive DRM like StarForce and SecuROM (especially older ones) so digital copies are better (in most cases).

You and I obviously have a different definition of "older games".
Also, he said "boxed" and not "retail".

This is a box ; boxes are good.
This is "retail" ; retail is shit.

Many and I'm hungry for more! XD

tburger: Sales are not as interesting for me as they used to be. I would rather be snowed under classic releases than overwhelmed by great promos.

That is so very true! T_T
(They don't make them like they used to really applies here...)

Although the new plastic DVD-case boxes store easier, and they take up less space... >_>

Recently a lot of the releases in the plastic boxes basically just hold a CD-key to register with some online service... T_T

The older style of box often had better box art ( [url=http://pics.mobygames.com/images/covers/large/979785061-00.jpg]anyway.) and also sometimes came with really cool extras. ^_^
(Or at least a printed manual that was more than 3 pages long...)

One of the things I about [url=http://www.gog.com/wishlist/site/tell_the_gog_team_you_appreciate_their_work]GOG is the bonus content found on many of the releases (Especially on the classics!) includes a lot of the special content that was found in those boxed editions. -_^

Along with cool stuff that wasn't always available at the original time of the release as well... like soundtracks! ^_^

I like this idea too! But that's because I haven't bought games in quite some time.

BUT

I think I can safely say I'm still supporting GOG by assisting in other ways. :-P

Moar gamez! I'm on Project Eden now. I completely missed out on this game when I was younger because I thought it was a generic action game.
Expect it when they launch it. :P

ChrisSD: GOG has too many sales. It should have more anti-sales instead.
Do you mean have a weekend promo and charge 70% extra?
