ChrisSD: GOG has too many sales. It should have more anti-sales instead.

Dzsono: Do you mean have a weekend promo and charge 70% extra?
At least.
Wait for the dust of E3 to settle.
Cannot wait for the sale. I always thought it was mid-summer.

SpellSword: [Yendorian Tales]!
This one I didn't play yet. Would buy.

SpellSword: Although the new plastic DVD-case boxes store easier, and they take up less space... >_>
In this case, I'd rather go full digital. Takes up even less space and stores even easier.
If the physical product holds no intrinsic value, I don't see the point in having it at all. Feelies or die !

tfishell: I like this idea too! But that's because I haven't bought games in quite some time.
I bought ca. 25 games in 2014 so cannot say my spending on gog.com decreased but somehow I don't feel comfortable when I don't see a large reservoir of classics 'yet-to-buy'.

Nirth: Same here even if I have a huge backlog.
Mhmm, many of us suffer from 'Just one more piece to my collection of classics...' syndrome and we are happy with it :-P

I think GOG has too many sales, it's got to the point with the rerun of the Insomnia sale that GOG is caring more about grabbing money quickly instead of getting new games (especially old games) signed here.

I have no problem with sales of course, but the fact is that during these sales little or no games get released, so it becomes an excuse for GOG to not release anything new.

Overall I see GOG's direction these days as catering too much to new users who don't own that many games on GOG, than the "old guard" who pretty much already own everything of note here and want/old games, not sales at every opportunity.

"Double price sale. For next month only all prices are DOUBLED! Each day GOG will have special offers where prices for selected games are tribled or quadrubled! Get them now while offers stand!" ;-p

But it's exactly how many companies run their businesses nowadays. Banks, phone operators, IT providers - to name few examles - for them new customer is valued more than those already acquired.
I'm not saying I like it - but it just work that way.

Well, I know GOG is a business, I'm just asking them to rise a bit above that and think more about the people who have been buying stuff here for a while and are here for the old games. I mean without them GOG would not have grown to be what it is today.

But I don't know why you felt the need to point it out for the Summer Sales, since this is what the thread is about. Basically almost every other sale, while good, are just as much a "farce" on occasion. It's the same games on sale all over again. That anyone, except the very new, will get shafted somewhat in the discount department, just as you feel the same for new releases.

The major sales are the only ones, with site-wide discounts. And that happens max twice a year. Which means the rarer games go on sale 2 times at most. I don't see how that is "a lot" of sales.
I wish for one soon.. Harvester and Shadowrun Dragonfall DLC, deal, please.. :)

I'll never understand people asking for discounts on a game that's already sold for only 4 euros. Grab it when it comes, but begging for this, really ?

And if it was sold for 2 euros, they'd be whining about it not having been on sale for 1 euro often enough.
