And it's nothing like actually dealing with the emotions and feelings that come from actual combat. Or tell that to all the PTSD patients and soldiers coming back from all those warzones. A game cannot prepare you emotionally for combat. It can help you with tactics and strategies but it cannot prepare you for the actual thing. And that's what the Army is finding out right now.

Well if you are willing to wait a decade or two, you might get it. Virtual reality is on the near horizon and various new ways of controlling and sensing virtual worlds like games is definitely coming. Combine that with all the possibilities of persistent multiplayer worlds and someone is going to see the opportunity to make a lot of bucks.

But I'd advise you to participate in a real orgy in real life instead. I don't have any experience with this myself, but although it would be a lot more work, I'm sure it would be a lot more fulfilling as well. Especially with a partner to share it with.

The American Army itself uses games as training tools. There are studies that claim FPS skills relate to skills with real weapons. A huge percentage of video games incorporate shooting as a core mechanic.

Well that's an extremely silly statement. You don't need a study to tell you that a better hand-eye coordination will help you with tasks which involve ... Eh ... Coordinating your hands and your eyes, not to mention that the stub you have linked seems extremely misleading - that it starts with the words 'murder simulators' hardly helps any in me taking it seriously and not question its trustworthiness.

At any rate, tactical thinking and videogames go together better than shooting and videogames. There are actually many things that goes together better in videogames than shooting, as the feeling of actually discharging a firearm is completely different from what videogames make it out to be. Feeling you get when planning ahead and outsmarting an opponent is exactly the same thing.
