Mr_Whiffles: Ziggurati?

_Auster_: Said they wouldn't remove the old version of the Bloodrayne games when the new versions would be released. Then, less than a week later, they were removed.
If what I understand right technically they didn't remove them as the old versions are bundled with the new version as a sorta ''goodie.. so if thats right then technically they didnt lie as they are still able to be gotten on storefronts including here .. Its just one has to buy the new version to get the O.G version even if not interested in the newer version

So if I understand right its a ''technically they didn't lie even if it seems like it ''
I can confirm that Ziggurat includes the old games with remasters. And the old games aren't treated as goodies, they actually have shelf space. I know because I bought the Bloodrayne franchise pack (B1 and 2 remastered, original Betrayal; since delisted). Came with both legacy versions. Sucks because I should have waited for them to remaster betrayal because now i have to buy it separately.

And they even gave the remastered versions of BloodRayne 1 and 2 for free to owners of the original games. That is, at least for owners, the best way to handle the remaster of a game.

_Auster_: As previously mentioned, the game is getting a remaster later this year
Why does that need a remaster? The game is from 2014 and the graphics still look good.

Thanks for the correction on how they are treated I wasn't sure how the remasters was treated for ones who hadn't the original versions as I have yet to get the third game remaster while I got the 1 and 2 game free now was I sure how they handled the bundling of the O.G and remaster as some cases on Gog the old none remaster versions are just a installer rather then taking up a for example on Galaxy a space in the listing or the like other then maybe a overlay of sorts

I ask this myself every time I see a remaster announcement.
They could put those games in an emulator with a generous native resolution setting or forward the customer to dev's choice of graphics mods (or maybe even make an optional mod/patch/DLC themselves) and the results would be much better without the need to make a fancy "remaster" that accomplishes nothing but having an inflated price.
Speaking of remasters,

Deadly Dozen remaster was announced couple of weeks ago, coming Spring 2022 -

No word about it's sequel remaster though.

Interestingly I believe Deadly Dozen was given away free last year or maybe the year prior(2020 and 2021 kinda blured together for me given real world factors) guess as to get people interested in this remake via having the old one I would say its possible even the Deadly Dozen pacific theatre could be at risk if this remake of the regular Deadly Dozen goes well as it'd be a easy second target to remark if the ip gets revived truly
I feel like it's either a bug, a misconfigured package or Steam having bad blood with the devs, but people who had gotten Agony UNRATED on Steam as a bonus when they got the censored Agony noticed yesterday the unrated version was no longer in their libraries.

In the possibility it was intentionally removed by the devs, people may want to keep an eye for the Agony + Agony UNRATED bundle here on GOG:

Do you think Pharaoh + Cleopatra will be removed from the catalog if this remake will be added to it ?

There are no guarantees the original version will be removed, but more often than not the original games are removed when a new version gets released, so there's a chance Pharaoh + Cleopatra is indeed at risk.

I just created a list on ITAD for the games announced here:
https://new.isthereanydeal.com/user/GOG-games-with-risk-of-removal/waitlist/

Not the ideal site for this type of thing, but I don't know any other sites that allow creating public lists with GOG games, that show the current prices and that only track legit stores (sorry, gg deals). GOG Mixes would probably be ideal, specially if they allowed notes for each entry, but sadly they seem to be dead for good.

Also didn't include titles that now seem unlikely to be at immediate risk, like Mary Skelter Nightmares (old version is still up), but feel free to point any titles I may have missed.

Unfortunately it's time to include Adeptus Titanicus: Dominus in it.

Thanks. I'll be adding it once I finish doing some things.

Talisman: Origins qualifies for this list.

I asked the devs about lack of updates and apparently it looks like the game wasn't popular enough, so the licence will eventually expire and won't be renewed.

However, Talisman: Digital Edition is safe for now, as it still receives updates and bugfixes.
