trentonlf: I didn’t mean if you supported Joe’s thought, I meant what do you think of him even suggesting it.

yogsloth: Here's the suggestion:

avatar
JoeSapphire: Out of interest, how many others think that, if there is a doctor, the doctor should claim in order to give goglactica more relevant information on the SirPrimalform debate?
avatar
yogsloth: I mean, it's a pretty silly reason. How would the Doctor outing himself mean squadoodle relevant to SPF's alignment?

It honestly seems so out there... I just brushed it off and didn't really alignment-read it. Could this be mafia role-fishing? Enh, maybe, but it just looks like silly Town to me.

Joe is definitely in the POE, but I got more dumpster fires to put out first.

@trent - gun to head - bler: Town or no?
Gun to the head, he’s scum

Bookwyrm627: Hey ZFR, what happens to a player that is caught in a lie? As a rule of thumb, anyway.
avatar
ZFR: I have a feeling you are going to tell me.
Actually, that's an honest question for you specifically.

You get the grade AFTER you take the test. ;)

A player caught in a lie gets labelled as scum, bad town player or town player trying out a weird gambit (which usually is bad idea for town).

SirPrimalform: poke
SPF, please provide a quick summary for me.

Who, over the course of the game, have you found scummy and approximately for when/how long?
For example "Well, I found you (Book) and Ele scummy during the whole of Day 1. Ele dropped off the list in Day 2, but I've found you scummy all game. I found Trent scummy since the EOD 2. Bler was pinging me in the middle of Day 2, but dropped off the radar before EOD."

I'm not particularly concerned with 'why', just 'who' and to a lesser extent 'when/how long'.

Gladly. It's weird how close your example is to my actual reads. I'm guessing you've pieced it together from my posts?

Book(s) - I've found you somewhat scummy since D1 - when adalia took over I initially felt like he was less scummy than you had been but as he played the feeling kind of built back up. Obviously there's been another slight reset as you've re-entered the game but as you were here on D1 it's not such a setback. So fairly continuously since D1.

Bler - found scummy very early on during very earliest reads on D1 but this was quickly superceded by other things. Been reading mostly townish since some point in D2. Stayed on your wagon (which was my preferred lynch too TBH).

ZFR - Had as scummy during D1, a bit more town D2 but not enough to stop the "no risk brig" thing seeming fairly appealing. Not really convinced either way by this point.

yogSL - no read on D1 really and most D2 posts were arguments with Lift but since subbing in yogs has had me wondering. Need to adjust to yog's playing style but I've got my eye on him.

ele - scummy since D1 but started dropping off the radar due to low participation particularly in D2. Hoping for some more posts today so I can solidify my read.

flub - Really pinged the WTFdar on D1 with a load of WIFOM talk about the brig being used to frame people, completely unrepentant when wonky logic was pointed out. Very lurky on D2, was still on my scum possibles list.

trent - felt reasonably town until the end of D2. Decided to block him on the basis of a few posts before and around the brigging of ZFR and lynch of cristi. Even more noticeably weird, he says he was unaware of being blocked last night. Relative newcomer to scumlist.

Got to go out soon, sorry for the noteform sentences.

And cristi and Vitek.

Tell me, SPF, cristi doesn't make your list of people you found scummy. And yet you voted her. Why?
Alright, so I'm caught up. Time for some game solving!

==========

Why did Vitek die?

I'm right there with Adalia on Vitek's death; I didn't even blink when he turned up dead.

There was basically no suspicion on him, and even less chance of a wagon. At the time, he was quite possibly the most unlynchable player in the game.

Why not town!SPF? SPF was still a lynch candidate and nearly died until he claimed. "The longer he lives, the worse he looks".
Why not PR-Hinting-Cristi? Also a lynch candidate.

Scum Rule Of Thumb: "Don't spend a NK on a player if you could instead spend the town's lynch on that player."

==========

Why did Flub die?

This NK choice is harder. I'm guessing "Hunting for the cop" combined with "No will for his lynch".

People have talked about lynching Flub and complained about Flub since Day 1, but the momentum was just never there. With a deputy flip, scum (like the rest of us) can reasonably guess that there is a cop. SPF isn't a kill choice on N2; he's either scum (don't kill) or Town RB (not Town Cop).

More than one player (at the very least, Adalia and I both) have commented on Flub's avatar choice sometimes breadcrumbing a role. It is reasonable to guess that Flub had a role, and a cop sometimes directs traffic (like a traffic cone).

Some other players (like me) seem distinctly more lynchable than Flub seemed, so bonus points on eliminating a harder-to-lynch player.

==========

Is HSL/Yogsloth scum?

I'm going to go with a solid "No."

The tone of HSL's posts all through Day 1 struck me as town and scum hunting. Likewise, I find myself pretty much on his side in the HSL/Lift blow up; I think Lift was doing all kinds of reaching there.

The biggest mark of towniness is HSL's lack of lynching a townie on Day 1. We know for a fact that Cristi was town, so scum!HSL would have no particular reason to waffle when he could use the pressure of the impending deadline to help lynch someone not on his team. Notably, even his after-deadline vote didn't land on Cristi; it landed on ZFR.

Scum!HSL is more than smart enough to come up with something, anything, to justify wagoning a townie when the deadline is that close, and there was no reason for him NOT to help a townie over the finish line. Doubly so with such a PR-hint as Cristi gave.

The only possible way I see this slot having the remotest chance of being scum is if ZFR is also scum, which would give scum!HSL a reason to hem and haw instead of just capping the VT that scum!HSL knows isn't aligned with him.

Nothing I've seen from HSL or Yog has persuaded me otherwise, and I'm really glad that Yog didn't replace into a more questionable slot.

==========

Is ZFR scum?

I'm going to go with a pretty solid 'No' here as well. Less solid than HSL/Yog, but I won't be voting here unless/until something truly damning happens.

I haven't had much issue with most of ZFR's posts during the game. There have been some pings, but pretty much everyone has given me some (including one from Adalia, and I've got Adalia's PM for reference!).

The big kicker for me is, again, EOD 1.

We're counting down to the deadline, and the only viable wagons are SPF and ZFR. SPF claims a PR, leaving just ZFR. ZFR is intelligent enough to know that a VT claim should kill him. Cristi knew it, I knew it, and I'm pretty sure one or two other people commented on it. I expect ZFR to have seen his possible lynch coming from a long way off, considering he's been under pressure pretty much all of Day 1; he's been in a GOG mafia game, and I'd expect him to be aware of the 'claim before lynch' and the relative value of vanilla versus other roles (better to kill vanilla than a town PR). Under the circumstances, scum!ZFR had zero reason to claim vanilla Town; such a claim should have sealed his lynch when there was only 45-60 minutes left to find someone else. Claiming anything else at all would have been safer. Additionally, the meta reference about SPF came up with the claim; this looks like something that ZFR has had in his pocket for 2 days and a few hundred posts.

Town!ZFR is aware that town should not be lying (my question to him in post 1109 was to confirm this), so he'll claim what he has.

Now, I'm perhaps more aware than anyone else how gutsy ZFR might play. He suckered me in his first game when he left a mason buddy at L-1 for a significant period of time. However, there comes a time in a towny's life when some decisions just have to be made; this is one of those times for me. I've got ZFR as pretty close to lock-town.

==========

Is Trent scum?

I'm going to go with "Very likely not". I've been fine with his posting through most of the game, so no red flags and a few things have struck me as town!Trent.

A town marker is SPF's block claim on Trent. By this point, I'm inclined to believe that SPF is a RB (too many ways that claim could have flamed out by now), and thus I'm also inclined to believe that he targeted who he said he targeted (no reason to lie as town, and too much risk of being caught if scum).

-Assume SPF is scum. Per Flub's death above, scum believe there is probably a cop in the game. They are not going to waste a Roleblock on one of their own when they could instead take two shots (RB and NK) at stopping the cop. If SPF is scum, then Trent is town.

-Assume SPF is town. One excellent reason not to kill a town PR is if that PR will do some damage for you. Town!SPF is going to target the people he suspects for scum; there's no real reason for him to do otherwise. Two reasons that Town!SPF survives: 1) Scum have other priorities (like cop hunting), and 2) SPF is on the wrong track with his suspects. Why kill SPF when you could have his role working for you until it is finally time to lynch him?

SPF has been on Flub, Ele, and I from Day 1. We collectively know that Flub was town, and I know that I am town. If Ele is town, then scum are at no real risk of being blocked, which means that town PRs might get blocked. There are only good things for scum here. So, Trent is more likely than not to be town.

I fully acknowledge that the town!SPF side of the case "RB Trent means Trent is town" is significantly weaker than the scum!SPF side of the case. Combine the RB with Trent refusing to help lynch a townie on Day 1 (he didn't have the pressure that HSL did, but he could still have reasonably helped lynch a townie), and I'm comfortable assigning Trent pretty firmly to the town side of the graph.
Is SPF scum?

I'm not sure.

I've already covered why scum wouldn't kill town!SPF. Scum!SPF isn't going to suffer a NK for the same reason.

Between Miller, RB, NK, Brig, and whatever scum might have, I think a cop and deputy aren't unreasonable powers for town (lots of ways for a cop to fail). Add my role and a bunch of VT, and that might be the setup right there.

Honestly, he might be scum, but I've got him in a similar position to Ele right now. There are several players who are simply so much worse that they push these two right out.

avatar
yogsloth: @all - opinions on SPF's general tone/play this game, for those of you that have had weeks to interact in the flow?
On Day 1 I had a general impression of his trying to avoid attracting too much notice and basically just get through the Day. Makes sense for scum or a town PR. He, Ele, and I were in a triangle of mutual distrust pretty much the whole Day.

==========

Is Ele scum?

Assume SirPrimal is scum. If so, does scum!Ele put him at L-1 (post 509) near EoD and walk away?
-Probably not, if he has a scum PR.
-Lift (792): "elebutterfly's re-read was more interesting: she attacks trent (and all others) for not finishing off ZFR. But she didn't do so herself and instead tried to re-vive the stalled SPF wagon"
--Need to reread: Was SPF relatively safe to put at L-1 while being reasonably sure it wouldn't end with his lynch?

I'm inclined to say that Ele and SPF are not wolf/wolf. If one flips wolf, the other should be town. Could be T/T though.

I don't have much other commentary on Ele at this point, except disappointment that she isn't more active. Hard to sort a silent slot.

==========

Is Joe scum?

Almost certainly.

He hasn't been hunting scum; he's been making noise with a lot of "could be this, could be that, not going to take a stance posts".

His voting habits, and commentary about voting being good for town, have already been noted. He ended Day 2 with no Vote, and only expressed interest in Cristi's wagon when it was basically all sealed up (post 1001).

Reread the EOD 1 again. He's throwing out a lot of fluff, cluttering up the EOD. He throws jabs at two players who said they were signing off after they'd left (me and Vitek).

Some other specific points:
===
-JoeS, Post 809: "brig Flubbucket
it'd be good to see what SirP can night do without that distraction. "

--Assume a Joe/SPF team. What COULD the mafia RB do without Flub as a distraction?
--There were several mentions of Flub's avatar as a possible role hint. Shutting down a PR, especially after Cristi flips Deputy (back up cop), would be great for scum.
===
-JoeS believed cristi's claim because she claimed 'crew lieutinent'. He's believing a claim based on the flavor title.
===
Quite content to waffle about choice of Vitek for kill (Post 638) and throw shade at the people Cristi suspected, but wants to immediately shut down discussion of the Flub kill (1053).
===
Post 1085: Running a poll in order to role hunt. Awesome sauce. "It wasn't me role fishing. People voted for it!!"
Setlle in boys and girls, it's going to be a long one.

Awaiting Part II - "Oh wait, *somebody* has to be Mafia"
*internally screaming waiting for 10-minute timer*

lol, ninja'd by that wall post by seconds

Hmmmm.

I am going to go back and try to get a whole-game sense of Joe.

If scum!Wyrm went to that kind of effort to wall-post all that just to lynch town!Joe... I would be very surprised... so with Trent as a town-read of mine and Wyrm's write-up, an ISO seems to be in order...
Man Joe talks a lot. I have, however, reinforced my earlier opinion that he is, in fact, a pip.

And I just realized this:

avatar
JoeSapphire: oh he makes trent change his mind he's yogsloth
oh he explains what his acronyms mean he's yogloth
oh he'll lead us all to our death and we'll love it,
murder us in our beds, we'll love it,
hooray hooray hooray
we love it we love it it's yogsloth
Apparently I'm a Slinky™.

It's hard to really process a lot of what he did before I joined the game since I'm lacking all of the flow around it - and I am steadfast in my reserve not to actually read the whole thing - but this was his last Day 2 reads list after I joined and started interacting in real-time, just before the cristi lynch:

avatar
JoeSapphire: Cristi - Not really worth saying, but I RECKON she's telling the truth, but I'm keen to see if I'm wrong.
ZFR - I believe his claim, town.
Flubbucket - Lurking a lot. Bad play whatever his role.
Adalia - Hm, the only thing I can recall is calling me "the better flubbucket" and not liking me not changing my vote. I think they're fair points and I like adalia for that.
Bler - Has been off my scumdar until very recently, and now everything he does looks suspect.
Yogsloth - Excellent play so far, hasn't set a foot wrong. Scum.
Ele - I've been hoping she's scum, but now I'm not so sure. I think she's playing true to character.
Lifthrasil - Popular opinion seems to be that he's scum, and I can get behind that, but I have no original ideas on the matter sorry.
Trenton - I enjoy his love for yogsloth. The change of stance on brigging ZFR was very interesting and I don't know if it's particularly indicative of anything... but could it be? I'm inclined to think town.
SirP - Tricky claim, I think we're all on the same page where that's concerned.

and I forgot Damnation! Been very quiet...

Damnation - been very quiet. Enjoyably hot-headed. I'm leaning town (is that a complete reverse on what I said about him last time?)

basically I DON'T KNOW I'M CRAP AT THIS SORRY xxx
I'm assuming he's kidding about me, so that leaves his strongest scum-leans as bler/lift. So he votes for:

avatar
PoppyAppletree: End of Day 2 vote count.

Lynch:

cristigale - 6 (Lifthrasil, adaliaBookwyrms, elebutterfly, Damnation, SirPrimalform, trentonlf)
adaliaBookwyrms - 2 (cristigale, bler144)
SirPrimalform - 2 (flubbucket, yogsloth)
Oh.

Precisely nobody.

So his two top suspects are not wagons, he "believes Cristi" so stays off that wagon and has clean hands.

There seems to have been some wiggle room in that reads list to land a vote on SPF, who is a viable wagon, but he doesn't.

I think this is worth pursuing.

Unvote SirPrimalform
