I like the GOG sales because every once in a while you can add to your ever growing catalog of games that you want to play, but never seem to find the time.

My recommendation for this round would be the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series. All 3 of them are 70% off, they don't take up that much room on the hard drive, and offer hours and hours of entertainment. Of course, it doesn't hurt that they have started teasing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 - so you have plenty of time to get caught up with the series.

Shadow of Chernobyl
Clear Sky
Call of Pripyat

I bought Barrow Hill (The Dark Path & Curse of the Ancient Circle) and Akiba's Trip: undead & Undressed during this sales. Two Barrow Hill games are excellent horror games. While I am waiting for GOG to bring 'The Lost Crown', which I consider to be among the best horror games, to this site, I decided to get these games. There are some similarities in the atmosphere between Barrow Hills and The Lost Crown. They are all from British game developers, which might be the reason for the similarities. As a stop gap for 'The Lost Crown', Barrow Hill games are really good. At 80% discount, it is a time to grab them. I bought the Akiba game as a walking simulator in Akihabara, Tokyo. I enjoy Grand Theft Auto IV as a walking simulator in New York although I am not a fan of shooting games in general. In the same token, I enjoy the Akiba game. I have been in both Tokyo and New York many times. These games bring me nostalgia for these great cities. At 50% discount, this was a good purchase particularly Japanese game companies do not give us a deep discount often.
I would like to buy Horizon Zero Dawn.
Why?
It's just a cool looking game and I would like to try it.
Bought Metal Gear Solid, because I love its gameplay and its story.
I bought five games, they are all older games that I have been looking to add to my library of games. The Longest Journey,
Dreamfall: The Longest Journey, Atlantis: The Lost Tales, Atlantis 2: Beyond Atlantis, Atlantis 3: The New World and REAH. I love all of the old point and click Myst style of games just to get my brain going.
Bought Medieval Dynasty and Kenshi during the spring sale. While Medieval Dynasty is still in alpha, it's got the bones of a good medieval survival and village builder and is fun in its own right. Kenshi is an open world, and while the graphics aren't the greatest, the gameplay of being a wanderer is pretty fun.
I got Horizon Zero Dawn.

It's a fun game that's been on my wishlist for a while. The open world looks great, the post-apocalyptic setting, seeing the ruins. And I haven't come across any bugs (around 8 hrs of playtime so far). There's hunting, stealth, also some parkour/climbing.

The map is big, but you can get mounts after around... 5-6 main missions?

So if you like post-apocalyptic, sci-fi, open world games.
I got the Dorfromantik. "Wait a minute, it's not even in a sale?!" You ask, well, that's where you're right kiddo, but it's actually just under a tenner and been one of the most relaxing and calming puzzle games I've played. Easy to pick up, no hurry, yet plenty to unlock and pleasing visuals. Definitely something to consider instead of some more hardcore action stuff.
My first priority buy for this sale would have been Horizon Zero Dawn.

Normally I wait for sales when I buy my games.
And this one was one I had had my eyes on for a while.
But so had my two gaming eager boys.
And they forced me to buy it at full price for our shared gaming pc at the very moment it hit GOG shelves for the very first time.
So I have it already. And all three of us played it and absolutely enjoyed it.

My other two "would have bought in this sale"-games are Endzone and Medieval Dynasty that I both have bought a while ago in early access. Endzone scratches that good old city builder itch so nicely. And Medieval Dynasty is in its' own way a first person city (or rather village) builder in an absolutely beautiful setting. Who would have known that plain and simple building, farming, gathering, cooking and crafting could be SO addictive?

Three must buys if you haven't got them already.

And now I will browse through this thread and find suggestions for games, i don't own already.
I got Neon Abyss during the Spring Sale.
Neon Abyyse is a amzyng rogue like game wiht an addicting game loop, a ton of lit weapons, power ups, and pets, and really original bosses.
Over all amazing game and who wouldent want to own Neon Abyss DRM free?

MOO! Gog is good! Picked up Stardew Valley and a slew of Ultima games I missed the first time through. Stardew has my attention right now, cause its so good! Thank You GOG for your great deals and fantastic customer service.
The Curse of Monkey Island

The third time that we have had to help the hapless Guybrush Threepwood overcome the terrors of the high seas and the idiocy of the land lubbers! The Monkey Island series was one of Lucasarts best selling franchises, and I look forward to many more insane and zany adventures with this guy and his best buddy Le Chuck, the Zombie Pirate Captain. Well maybe they're not the best of buddy's...but at least they both think Elaine is super hot, cause she is :D

So don your pirate boots and eye patches and whip out the bottles of grog and enjoy sailing across the Seven Seas to discover Monkey Island once again!

I actually grabbed some games from the might and magic collection. Recommended from the seeth YouTube channel. Seems like such a weird and interesting time. Also XIII, wonderful art style and gun play!!
I bought The withcer 3 and it is the best RPG I have ever played
I picked up Xcom 2 War of the chosen because it changes the Xcom experience and adds more depth. Plus, it is more Xcom! I would recommend this game of you like strategy games or would like to get into the genre. If you are a beginner, the base game helps teach the idea of the genre, and the add on would be the graduation test. Also, I went ahead and bought Dragonfall because of the forums. Somebody recommended the game and it fit my tastes. So, thank you for the recommendation! My library keeps growing because of GOG and the newsletter. So, I would also recommend getting on the newsletter for free games and good info for more games you may like.

Thanks and God bless
