Niggles: U have to wonder what % of the bundle each of the devs earn. Are all those games really selling that badly they had to agree to go into the bundle?
The devs get 85% of the total income spread out over all 9 devs, so between 8 and 9% of the share - around $90,000-$100,000 each - assuming most users haven't tweaked the share sliders much (most buyers probably don't care enough to do so).

And to answer your question, yes, the long tail of an indie game is usually EXTREMELY short. Its best days are in the first week or so, because sales drop off to practically nothing thereafter. Two Tribes was one of the oldest and more well-established indie studios, and I suspect we'll be seeing a lot more in the months to come. Indie games are very rarely profitable.

Porkepix: If I remember correctly when I was looking for informations about it, the first one was Windows-only.
As this bundle is, happily, multi-OS, they couldn't add it excepted by adding support for OS X/Linux.
The Linux port of Joe Danger 2 was actually created through a development studio paid for by Humble Bundle, as are a great number of the ports. The port you see on Steam is a fairly recent addition that coincided with the HIBX version. Also, Hello Games did say that the first game was being ported as well together with it.

chezybezy: anyone notice a rather odd thing in the increase your amount page?
current BTA is 5.25, increase states: "Make sure your total is over $6.34"
When you go back to increase your amount, you have to beat the BTA price of when you originally bought the bundle, not the current one.
I've just added Toki Tori 2+ to my Steam account and I've been given yet ANOTHER 10% off voucher for that game to add to my ten or so other Toki Tori 2+ vouchers. Considering paying someone to take them.

JetGumRadio: Backing up all these games is started to get annoying! My humble folder just corrupted itself and when I went to check my backup it is also corrupted. I think the last few games did something to the archive. I recently went through figured out which games had new builds and replaced them manually.
Completely off topic, but I'm very tempted to steal your avatar.
BTA is not good
am i going nuts or was Strike Suit Zero in a recent bundle?

No, but it was in a Daily Royale a few weeks ago.

Leroux: It's good to see Papo & Yo as DRM-free download, but if that's possible now, I wonder why it wasn't DRM-free when I bought it from Humble Store or when it was on IGS.
It still isn't DRM-free or multiplatform on Humble Store - listed as Steam/Windows only. Then again, the same was true for Fez, the store only got the other platforms a while after the bundle had run.

Yep, this will indeed be the first numbered HIB that I'll skip.
I am considering skipping this bundle as well. I'm not sure though.

I would like To The Moon, but I would prefer to get it on gog.

I would like Papa & Yo (which isn't available on gog).

I am indifferent about Reus and Strike Suit Zero, although of the two, Reus looks most interesting to me.

The other games I don't care about. I guess if I was to buy the bundle I would pay around $10 to $12 for it. I guess the question is:

"Do I care enough about getting a mac version of To The Moon and Reus and getting Papa & Yo or should I wait for a sale on gog (and just use wine)?"

I guess the fact that there are mac versions available is the only reason I am considering this bundle...
Like many of the recent humble bundles, I am super disappointed and super uninterested. Humble still makes oodles of money so they clearly haven't lost their game entirely, but I haven't had the slightest desire to give them any money in almost a year...

innerring: That the case for the Toki Tori devs
Darn, now I feel bad, we fell for that charming chicken D:
I'm disappointed too...what a mess for a X bundle. I mean, two great games, but they were already sold at 1 $ on Indiegamestand and included in some bundles (at least, To the moon was). The other games don't interest me, I was hoping for Spelunky, Guacamelee, Outlast, Rogue Legacy...and nothing here.
