undeadcow: Apparently Humble Bundle retroactively added Starbound to some purchases made just at start of sale. I got the following e-mail:

"Thank you for purchasing Humble Indie Bundle X! Your purchase was processed right on the cusp of when we ran out of our 1,000 Starbound keys, but we were able to secure you a copy. Head to your purchase page to find your copy of Starbound..."

That's very cool of the Humbke Bundle people!
Damn, I should have gone through with it. I chickened out because I got to paypal and then saw that the number of copies left had reached zero. Probably would have got an email like yours if I'd gone through with it.

Having seen the demand generated for the game, I expect that Starbound will appear again in a HB in the future. Probably a few months after it gets completed they might go and stick it in a top tire like this again.
I just hope without the stupid "limited quantity" strategy again. It got them hype this time, who knows how well it will be taken the next time.

Don't count on it.

I thought they said the entire Bundle was only going to be 1000 units, so I hit it as soon as it came up.

I got the the unlockables, but I didn't get Starbound, so they pretty much had to be gone instantaneously :/

Doubt it happens until sales start to drop for the game. The demand for Starbound has been there since launch @ $15 and its still going strong.
Bit late to mentioning it, but I went ahead and bought it when the average dropped to $5.99. I'm fine with paying $6 for it, but I'm not going to pay more for it than the 'bta' for the weekly sales.

Pretty much hoping something nice gets added next week since I really only got it for Bit.Trip and Surgeon Simulator.
Too much hype for this bundle with pretty meh games for me. My wallet thanks.
Was really only interested in To The Moon and Papa & Yo but Reus does look interesting.

I would prefer to get them on gog, but gog doesn't have the mac versions. I wonder if the Humble Bundle people have the rights to the Mac versions of the games....

Hmm... They haven't released the mac version of Capsized here (which admittedly has some serious slowdown bugs on certain levels)... I might do some research.

I will ponder and wait for the additional games before deciding what to do.

It's somewhat known that for the Mac/Linux debuts of titles with HIB, it's actually Humble Bundle itself that finances, supports (and one would assume, owns) the rights to the Mac/Linux ports of at least several indie games. This comes from the story of the Mac/Linux port of Vessel, which IIRC Humble Bundle commissioned. I also believe that Humble Bundle also got the Mac/Linux port of Limbo finished (again, IIRC, Humble Bundle used Codeweavers' WINE-based technology to make the port drawing the ire of Linux gamers seeking a native version).
So this is Humble Indie Bundle X, huh? How do you live up to people's expectations for the big 1-0? You don't, I guess. Can't blame 'em. I don't think I would've wasted the effort either.

jamotide: Hehe, 5 grand for a stupid joke, that is class!

golea: Now the top contribution is $ 1250. Apparently they don't accept money from scum. Good move.
I agree, great move. People who make jokes are worse than Hitler.

Thanks for that. I guess I will have to pick up this bundle then.

I got this too, so consider my grumbling obsolete. Yay HIB people!
At least now they allow you to gift games in the bundle (like Steam keys) if you already own one or more of the games in the bundle.

There is a difference between making a joke and beeing a fucking nazi.

I see no evidence of anyone being a nazi, just poor taste in jokes.
