Gremmi: You've been able to play Steam games offline for several years now, as long as the game is fully downloaded.

Ummm... No you can't. Empire Total War doesn't work, as I've pointed out.

Yes you can. The vast majority of Steam games work fine in offline mode. The ones that use Steam for achievements may be an exception. I have used offline mode numerous times without issues, you just can't expect to use features that require steam servers.

My apologies, I didn't realize there was an "offline mode". Thanks for the info.
I'm so going to get Star Wars Battlefront 2 when I have enough money, I always loved it on the PS2, on the PC it must be even better.

Yeah, it's exactly this. You can play the game absolutely fine, but it doesn't have anything like stat tracking or achievements. I've just moved house and don't have internet setup there just yet, so have been using Offline mode extensively. Empire: Total War works fine.

So you like steam now?
Off topic...
Was anyone else stupid enough to follow Lucasarts twitter?
Talk about over excitable, you'd think the guy writing it was eating 10lb of sugar each day and washing it down with crack cocaine.

Just a bit, i know he's being paid to be enthuiastic but damn, anyone would think they were releasing a new game.
Does anyone know what time (gmt) steam updates ? I want to laugh at how overpriced their range will be. Although i guess they won't be as overpriced as their games are on ebay at the moment, of course that should change shortly.
Well, two hours ago, the LA twinitwit said it will be "soon", I haven't seen anything more specific than that.
EDIT - Okay, now he's saying their about to hit the button...

Yep, they don't look too bad:
The Dig - $4.99
SW: Starfighter - $4.99
SW: Republic Commando - $9.99
LEGO Indy - $19.99
LOOM - $4.99
Armed and Dangerous - $9.99
Battlefront 2 - $19.99
Indy: LC - $4.99
Indy: FoA - $4.99
Thrilville - $19.99
Can't argue with UK prices either.

I'm almost tempted, but its steam, i want to buy games not rent them.
I know i'm dreaming but it would be great if they cam to GOG even if they were a bit more expensive.
The SE Secret of Monkey Island is now showing in the coming soon section, no price yet though.

Aye, it doesnt look too bad on the Euro side either. Their cheapest games are 4 Euros which is somewhere between 4.99 and 5.99 dollars ( all depending on exchange rates ). So at least they haven't been complete wankers and overpriced us. However, I am still not that keen on having more games than needed tied to Steam, so I think I shall wait before buying anything and hope that at some stage it will become available here.
I've got enough games to keep me occupied for the foreseeable future anyways :D
Now that the games are out on steam hopefully lucasarts considers more igital download services like for example gog.com, we can only hope tough
