It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

mrkgnao: I found a solution for my case.

I use Privacy Badger to block trackers. Per tracker, I can set three levels of access: Fully block (RED), Allow but block cookies (YELLOW), Fully allow (GREEN).

My relevant settings earlier on (when checkout failed) were:
- www.paypal.com YELLOW
- cdn.siftscience.com RED

I tried several combinations of these (and other trackers) and the following finally worked:
- www.paypal.com GREEN
- cdn.siftscience.com RED

So it seems checkout now requires PayPal cookies to be allowed (wasn't the case before), but I can block cdn.siftscience.com and checkout still works (for me).

sunshinecorp: Tried this but the only thing that's changed is that I now get an endless loop of:

"Please wait...

sunshinecorp, we are waiting for verification of your payment attempt - please be patient as this may take a moment."
Do you block "braintree-api.com" and/or "braintreegateway.com" and/or "hotjar.com"? If so, try unblocking them, one at a time.

Those don't even show up for me.

Right, so now I tried opening a new private window with all my add-ons disabled. It still doesn't work. I changed my blocking settings in Firefox to allow everything BUT third-party trackers and it still won't work. PayPal works fine with every other shop though, even with all add-ons turned on and all my usual blocking on. It seems to me that GOG forces users to not block third-party trackers for PayPal to work. I would turn off third-party tracker blocking if I didn't have to reload all my tabs with tracker access, just to check, but right now I'd rather not because there are too many tabs. But I'm PRETTY SURE this is it. Why, though? What kind of insane practice is this? I hope it's merely something they've overlooked in their "new implementation" instead of it being on purpose.

They show up for me only on the cart page.

Some don't show up for me at all, even on the cart page, some showed up not in Privacy Badger but in Firefox's built-in tracker blocker. In any case, having to allow any third-party tracker (especially when it's not PayPal related) to enable PayPal payments is completely and utterly unacceptable and till now has only happened to me on GOG.

If I made a mistake,I apologise in advance........GOG,why is it necessary for me to go and sign out off Paypal????????? Once I make a purchase and come out of PayPal, that should be it but nooooooo thats too easy as Gog leaves me signed into PayPal and that is not the right or safe way to work. If it does it again then I will not buy any more games here. Been a while since I used PayPal but and I could of made a mistake but I shouldn't have to go back to PayPal to sign out as leaving it open is slightly dangerous. I see the mistake is when game is paid for at Gog then it auto shuts out of PayPal and returns here so next time I will see if I can sign out before it auto shuts me back to here.

PayPal logouts happen within a few minutes and not immediately. Probably so as to let you make chain purchases without having to log in again. That's a PayPal "feauture".

MarkoH01: I just took a few screenshots from a test which will now be part of the support ticket I am about to create in a few minutes. Every screenshot is taken in chronological order of the purchase while the first one is clearly shown that One Touch is turned off. If somebody could tell me how to skip or opt out in any way - be my guest.

Edit: Support ticket created.

emter_pl: Thanks for explaining your point. Pre-approved payments and One Touch are two services that work in a different way, hence the misunderstanding.

We just updated the PayPal flow.

It now should enable all of you to use your PayPal balance/credits and we made sure that payments are one-time only. One Touch is still available as an option and works automatically if you already enabled it on your device.
Please have a look at posts 120 to 125 on this thread. There's something still preventing purchases.

It was instant, as soon as I clicked pay now.

I am blocking 3rd party trackers and can get in fine.... So that's not exactly the problem.

I can't figure something else out. I've tried with no add ons enabled and no blocking at all but the 3rd party trackers. And tried using PayPal on several other shops on my browser and it works. Something's definitely broken. Like I said, I haven't tried unblocking the 3rd party trackers so yes, that might not be it, I was just assuming because it was the only thing I had left blocked.

I get it. Have you tried with firefox in safemode? It could be an addon (if you're using any) that is causing funny issues. I've had that before, where just using Privacy badger with Adalia Fundamentals (Even if Privacy badger wasn't actively blocking anything) caused parts of the GOG site/forum to not work correctly.
Remember that One Touch is still available as an option and will work automatically if you've enabled it on your device.
Our logs don't indicate any PayPal problems currently but we are monitoring the situation for any potential issues. That being said, if you're still having some trouble, please contact our Support.
Also, I've let our Web Team know about the issues you've just mentioned and they're looking into it.

It never gave me a chance to sign out of PayPal and I had to go back and sign out.

Tried private browsing without any addons enabled, yes. This is very weird.
Another related issue:
- If you try to "buy" a FREE game/DLC as a gift, the checkout button on the "Checkout" window now reads "Pay with PayPal", not "Get Free" (or whatever it used to read).
- If you click on the "Pay with PayPal", a Paypal pop-up appears, then disappears, and a GOG "There was a problem with processing your payment. Please try again." error message is printed.
- However, the "purchase" does go through and the gift code appears in your "Orders History" window.

Probably the same if you buy it not as a gift (couldn't test).
