Good it's still open. Even though it's pretty damn difficult, because a lot of people here are very valued members, each in his own way, so basically it's impossible for me to choose one over the other, I still wanted to contribute.

The difficulty of this choice reminded me of sometimes difficult choices in the How would the GOG community run a nation thread by Maighstir. Giving it a second thought, I came up with an idea who to nominate.
Maighstir has put a lot of effort in hosting and maintaining this thread all over the year. It's a nice community offer, other than game chat and giveaways and while it's surely not for everybody, it makes this forum more diversified and entertaining.
Aside from that, he's helpful and knows the site even better than GOG staff ;-)

Due to the utter inability to post for several hours here, the honour roll and draw for this will be later than intended!

Okay, so this is long overdue in posting the results, but as some of you know I haven't been too well since Christmas week, and the draw had to be delayed as it was due to the lack of post-ability on Christmas day itself.

I've had plenty of people ask me why this particular giveaway was brought into existence. There are plenty of reasons, but one that particularly sparked my interest in doing this was momo's "Best Giveaways Ever" thread. As much fun as that was, and as much as I saw it as a valid recognition, thanks and way to reward the gifters on here, I began to think how many there are here that give in other ways - through their time, expertise and assitance (among other qualities they bring). So, when I was offered the extra $10 to add to the pot by The SIGIL, I asked if it was okay to try this. After some brainstorming on how best to format the giveaway, I posted, and the nominations began to trickle in. Sadly, quite a few people didn't nominate in the correct manner, or just nominated for a joke. These were not counted.

Wow! It's a bit embarrassing to be chosen by Lady Luck, with so many good people on the list. Although I'm very happy about the prize, I have to second Sachy's statement, that all the kind words in here are the real prize of this contest. It was rather hard for me to nominate myself, because everybody here would have deserved it and in the end I would have liked to see even more people mentioned. Surprisingly, I also discovered efforts of people I hadn't known of before. The forum might not have many categories, but there are niches of expertise and specialization everywhere and naturally one can't participate in everything.
