Sachys: LINKS!
OK, IN A BIT!
I'd nominate Hickory, who's been incredibly helpful in the Baldur's Gate forum, be it with technical support, advice on good choices in game, or an explanation of the more complex in game mechanics. Since one thread won't really show it, I'll link a convenient list of all the threads he's posted in. Wait, that's the Baldur's Gate subforum link :P

I nominate GOG member of staff JudasIscariot, he spent all night putting together the 162 page scans I done for the Shadowman guide into a high quality pdf file :

http://www.gog.com/forum/shadow_man/update_thanks_to_iain_m_you_wont_get_lost_in_shadow_man_anymore/page1

Some going, took me a day or two to do the scans and once he had them in one night he completed it, fantastic :)

tinyE: You want links? YOU GOT EM!
"This is going to be a picture of sausages."

*clicks link*

"That was a picture of sausages."

This is what I said.
I was hesitating about whether or not to post in this thread, because I'm quite new around here and so I've obviously missed most of the forum activity from this year, besides I haven't got to know many of you yet. But I wanted to seize the opportunity to acknowledge and thank the efforts and contributions that some GOG members had made and I have witnessed amazed.

In such a wonderful community it's difficult to just nominate a person, because everybody helps in different ways and in different matters... (you are all awesome ^^) Beautiful Lady Momo is always organizing the most generous giveaways, and even tracking down which member wanted which game to put a smile on their faces... Le Chevalier and his holy quest to bump every worthy thread does not go unnoticed... Barry Woodward has done a remarkable work promoting excellent games so that they can be released here, and supporting re-releases of games that have been pulled from GOG... Judas Iscariot, from GOG's staff, is really dedicated and helpfull... Dischord is an outstanding member of the community, known for his kindness and many good deeds... Thespian says something interesting in each of his posts, Azrael is both amazingly nice and supportive, and he has the coolest avatar! xD

Have no doubt that I could continue writing about the virtudes I see in many, many more members, however if I must abide the rules of The Sigil and nominate only one person I would pick Sinistar for GOGlodyte of the year. As well as being extremely generous, inspiring, and giving good advice in the Gaming Deals thread, he makes people feel welcome.

Beware... He Lives!

Sorry, but you'll need to rejig your nomination as gifting cannot be a reason to nominate. Also you must provide specific links!

This goes for everyone!

OP updated to make it EVEN clearer!

Whilst I myself appreciate the great pie eater, Judas, GOG staff are also exempt from being nominated!

Thank you to The Sigil and Sachys for this most prestigious giveaway.

As others have discussed there are so many people here to help make the GOG community a great one. I wish we could nominate more than one person. :p

That said, I'd like to nominate Barefoot_Monkey. He has done a great job with his Barefoot Essentials script, updating it regularly and adding various new features. I must say that browsing the forum and site without Barefoot Essentials just isn't the same. One of my favorite features he added this year was a "quick reply" box at the bottom of every thread page, which doesn't require you to open a separate "add new post" window unless you want to use the quote feature. It also uses handy shortcuts like Ctrl-B/U/I (bold, underline, italics) and Ctrl-y (for hyperlinks). It's just one of those really neat features that makes a big difference, at least for me. Plus there's live preview, restyling forum quotes to make threads more readable, etc. Of course there's also the GOG Wiki and everything that goes along with that, like additional helpful information for each game. There are various other posters who help to update and maintain the GOG Wiki.

But again, I thank everyone who's contributed in different ways and wish I could vouch for them all. Cheers on a great 2013 and looking forward to an even better 2014. :)

I would like to nominate Momo1991. She's extremely understanding to newcomers and very generous as well.

If I need to provide more proof with links just ask. =)

I think I'm following the gist of that - but if you could link to the post you want me / The SIGIL to begin reading with, that would help. Cheers!

Yeah, definately a link to the post please!

I don't know if I can dig up an example, I'm not very good at using the search function Sachys =( Can you possibly help me? I know she's very considerate of new people to GOG and usually tries to advise them when they might stray off course of our crazy community and somewhat unspoken rules we have here, =Þ

I literally mean the post link - like this: http://www.gog.com/forum/general/goglodyte_of_the_year_award/post86 - right next to the post time / date bit.
Just so i can pick up the flow of what you've linked without getting square eyes!

You guys...had a smile on my face the whole time I was reading through this thread! :D
So funny how Sachys play the reinforcer around here xD

Since I want to go to bed already, I'll just say that there are many people who'd deserve the title of GOGlodyte and that I really love this community (so no, Sachys, I'm not nominating anyone ;D).
