DarkwingDuck13: Has anyone from GOG commented on this yet? I was pretty saddened to hear the news. If the LA games are completely tied to Steam as a service and can't even be used with SCUMMVM, they won't get my money. The only games I've ever purchased on Steam have been games that I literally could not get without it (basically, the Source engine titles). Even with those, I waited until I could get the Orange Box for less than $10, and I bought a physical copy to be cracked at a later date when the benevolent company in charge of Steam goes out of business and/or changes hands. :P

I'd like to hear a comment from the GOG team as well regarding this announcement.

Uhm... What is that supposed to accomplish? The retail version is also tied to Steam.

Did you read what I wrote? The initial data/game is still on the discs...

Ah, right. I guess I misinterpreted what you meant by "cracked". I still don't see what you need two copies for. If you just bought the retail one, you'd still be able to crack it later, wouldn't you? The act of installing the game cannot possibly change the data on the disc.
For that matter, if you already bought a digital copy and eventually need to crack it, why not just pirate a pre-cracked version (assuming there is one)?

Because I'll play by the rules until they try to screw me out of what I paid for. :)

I still fail to see why "playing by the rules" neccessitates paying for it twice.
So, as far as I can tell, it is the 8th, but I still don't see any LucasArts games on Steam...

I didn't think steam games could be cracked from the originals as you have to download files which decrypts the information on the discs to make it playable.
I got a 'borrowed copy' for HL2 straight away (it simply ran better at the time) and will do the same with anything i cannot backup or crack.
If you own it, it's not illegal to back it up for your own use, although there will plenty of people trying to say that isn't true anymore (but it was ok 15 years ago for floppy discs).

Actually, I've been told these are the Euro prices:
The Dig - €3.99
SW: Starfighter - €3.99
SW: Republic Commando - €8.99
LEGO Indy - €17.99
LOOM - €3.99
Armed and Dangerous - €8.99
Battlefront 2 - €17.99
Indy: LC - €3.99
Indy: FoA - €3.99
Thrilville - €17.99
But, being in the US, I can't see the actual Euro prices, so if someone could confirm that, it would be nice.

Actually, that is correct. Had to restart Steam to see their catalog for some reason.
If someone who used to have the bumpmapping problem with his graphic card in Republic Commando, I'd be very interested to know if it has been fixed. ;)
