Oh, its just DDoS and not hackers. That I'm acceptable with. What I don't want is someone getting into user account/payment databases.
I really don't like having my creditcard stored on any server, I like to have to put it in each time I purchase.
(Since I have been victim of identity theft too many times to count, can't seem to stop people from using my wifi either)

I also have mixed feelings about steam being DDoS.. on one hand I want some steam policies to change... but on the other hand I don't want them to be DDoS.
Sadly, a DDoS won't make steam change anything at all,... maybe better DDoS prevention stuff will be implemented.

It's not the first time you did this, trying to shut him up by pointing to past postings of him with adding absolutely nothing to the topic at hand. It's ridiculous and silly. You don't like him - that's ok. It's not that we two are particular fond of each other either. Going on a personal vendetta, is not.
Just be aware, that this works both ways. And I have a certain topic about "level scaling" back in my head, where you weren't looking especially good and were JMich let you run against the wall time and time again.... and no, this is not a threat.

But this isn't true at all. Only the Steam Store and Community pages were affected as far as i know. The games themselves were working fine (even the ones with multiplayer handled by Steam servers). Origin worked fine as well. And even then both have offline modes, so it really wasn't that much of an issue.

By the way, calling these kids "hackers" is an insult to real hackers. Anyone can launch a DDoS attack.

Nirth: Just out of curiousity, anyone here that was directly affected that was in a non-multiplayer game when they were DDOSed?
Well, i can't speak for everyone, but i was playing Terraria (singleplayer) when the attack happened and wasn't affected. I also did play Speedrunners (an awesome early access game) online and i'm pretty sure it uses Steam's servers.

They should catch those hackers and punish them. Give them jail, have them pay, etc.
But also make sure they have a second chance, so don't completely ruin them.

Crosmando is famous here for name calling, downright insults and personal attacks. He's just a troll really, he can't write one single post without resorting to personal offenses or calling everyone who doesn't agree with him a "consoletard".

But no, the mods won't do anything, sadly. The best thing we can do is to stop feeding the troll.

In the USA, if you get caught doing something illegal and you are over the age of 18, you are screwed for life(never be able to get a job). No second chances, in this country. It is no surprise that criminals continue being criminals in this country. What choice do they have?

Same here. Suffering = hate and it's impossible to fight it. Trying to get rid of it is futile. It is like inside of you, there is a fountain of hate with infinite hate. The only thing we can do is turn it into strength to aid us against those who are foolish enough to become our enemies.

Precisely! I've had Physical, Emotional, Psychological, Mental, systematic suffering plus being Nagged at, bitch at, Shit on and other People Dicking me around I get Hideously angry Like Wolverine! I even Bite the Air when I get annoyed.

I know, no mod will do anything, he abuses of this, most of the time i ignore him, but sometimes , he goes too far and sometimes i can't stay silent, sadly :(
